Quick question on user lookups

So every week when a new user lookup makes spotlight i take a look. One week included a picture neopets made themselves yet the lookup won anyways. does this only rarely happen? ive noticed only one of these types winning so far. thanks for any help :)

A lot of them actually contain pieces of pictures from the Neopets site. You probably just didn't notice because they are a huge number of pictures on the neopets site. There's nothing wrong with using them and its not against the rules. It's all what you do with the pictures so have fun.

Of course, because that's how people win the Lookup trophy these days: Just steal Neo art and fit it into one big image and throw everything on top of it. No actual talent actually needed.

 

And yes, I am DEEPLY bitter that I have never won the spotlight, okay?!?

To be honest, not all of the people who won deserved it-some lookups are significantly less impressive than others. But TNT's the judge, what can we do about it.

Your lookup can only be spotlighed if it's Neopets themed. They get a lot of enties too, so they have to skim through all of them for special holidays and pet days.

If you don't make significative modifications to the default template, your entry gets rejected (they neomail you about it).

 

Izzy and I had already won the spotlight.

 

I would say that the userspotlight is an occasion to be creative and to impress people, but it really doesn't matter if you reuse an artwork made by TNT or if you do your own fanarts. Just be creative :)
