Yooyuball Guide for Dummies?

Recommended Posts

So I tried to play Yooyuball last year and ended up quitting out of frustration, does anyone have a dummies guide other than the TDN guide?

Also, is there anywhere you can play it for practice/not points?

Thanks!

Okay, I don't have a guide, but I can give some basic hints.

First, you need to pick which formation is best for you.

There is 2+2, 1+3, and 3+1.

Personally I prefer 1+3 because thats the formation that leaves a player closest to the yooyu.

Then pick which side you want to defend.

Personally I prefer right-left but I guess it depends on your style of play and if you're left or right handed.

Find out where your player will be and have your mouse hovering right next to him/her before the game then when it starts immediatley move it over and have the player run to the ball. When he she grabs it run to the top side of the feild and shoot at an angle downwards to the bottom corner of the net so the goalie won't have time to defend it.

Hit space twice to skip the intro and speed things up by 8 seconds.

Continue this until the match ends and if done quickly you'll atleast have 6 points. When you master it you might even be able to expect a 10+ average or better.

And about finding a place to practice. Go the Virtupets board and ask your teams board about it. Someone usually always has the link.

And if it gets boring during the AC and you need motivation find a friend to have as a rival and do things like race to 100 points or race to a certain rank. It really helps. -nodnod-

Hope this helps.

Actually TDN has a practice play thingie..

Click here for TDN's practice "Play Yooyuball" application. You can pick what team you play, and the team you are playing against, along with formation. It's just like playing an actual game, but it doesn't actually count. Perfect practice! It also lets you get a good idea as to what team you want to be on for the actual game, and once you've picked one, you can get a good feel of the team and strategies for play :)
