Secret Santa!

Welcome, TDNers, to the (hopefully) First Annual Secret Santa on TDN. In case you don't know what a Secret Santa is, here's a brief description:

 

A group of people would get together. Then, a 'leader' would take all of their names and randomly mix them together. Person A would buy a present for Person B, Person B would buy a present for Person D, etc. Then they'd all give each other their presents.

 

But here on TDN, we're doing it kinda different. There's going to be two groups of Secret Santa Exchanges (SSE) The first group will have TDNers, who aren't the richest in Neopia. These TDNers will buy each others present on Neopets costing between 10 000NP-20 000 NP. They're going to be group A. The second group will have TDNers who have a bit more NP. This group of TDNers doesn't a price limit, though I'd suggest around 25 000NP-75 000NP. This is Group B.

 

First of all, you're all going to send me a PM with "Secret Santa- *Insert Name Here*, and the PM will go in this format:

TDN name

Name we should call you by

Which Group you're going to go in.

What days in December you WON'T be here on TDN. (Please answer this question to the best of your knowledge.)

Are you over thirteen?

What's your Neopets username?

 

Then, you post in this topic what kinds of things you'd like in your price range.

 

You have until December 10nth to enter in the Secret Santa; after that, I won't take any more entries.

 

On the 11th-12th of December, me and (maybe) Crystal will start choosing/deciding who everybody is going to give a present to. Then, you'll have the 13th-21rst (approximately.I'll tell you if there's extreme circumstances) of December to buy your gifts. I'd suggest doing it earlier rather than later.

 

After that, you give your Secret Santa their present. If your 13+, just send it to them. If your not over thirteen, make a trade and PM me the link. I'll then PM your Secret Santa the link. Then they offer a random piece of junk.

I'm in Group B since I have a fair amount of NPs, and I gain NPs rather fast when I work at it.

 

If it hasn't been shown several times on TDN, I'm an avvid Hissi fan, and Hissi wearables would be great (male of course). The dream pets I'm aiming towards are a Draik and Krawk. But at over 10 mil NPs each, I know that is a definate no.

If you need ideas, I like Illusen and Mystery Island things (I have some in my gallery). Codestones and dubloons are always good too. Oh and stamps! I just started collecting those. :yes: Or maybe some foods that Kads eat? I'm going to try my hand at Kad feeding soon.

 

The couple of things that I super duper want are way too expensive, haha (Nerkmid, Twin Faerie Blades, some way to get a Maraquan Shoryu).

I'm also working for a Krawk or Draik (whichever comes first). But I decided to go to Group B because:

 

1. I would like a cool present. :P

2. Who knows. Maybe there's a small glint of hope that someone has the money to get me a MP (doubt it, but it's worth a shot).

3. I feel bad when I get someone a present that didn't cost much. It makes me feel cheap.

Pfft. There's no way to feel cheap if you actually need the cash for something else. A lot of people on here are saving. I'm actually surprised at how many people are in group A, to be honest. I thought everyone would want to be in group B.

 

What I really want for Christmas is not from this group, but I want someone to buy my dratted book. LOL. So if any of you know book collectors, get the word out, ok? LOL

Nah. I just feel bad. I don't go for something really expensive, but I perfer to get something that would help someone for one of their goals. Like if someone wants a Tyrannian PB for a dream pet, I wouldn't be afraid.

 

And something tells me that some people out there are the same.

Oh absolutely. I told JB to put me in whatever group he wanted, through PM. Because I don't mind either way.

 

However, I've got a neofriend that her dream petpet was a Camelior. So I thought about it for a little while, and then I turned around and sent her a message that said "Something has happened!" as the subject line. Then, in the message box it said "You have found a lost and lonely camelior. He's looking for a good home. Take care of him." I sent her my own personal camelior, and then proceeded to go and replace it. LOL. Told her the only thing I wanted her to do was to keep an eye out for cheap petpets, so I could go buy them.

 

She wanted to try to get me a magmut. I told her not to right now. She's trying to get her lab map, as I am, and I consider that to be very important. Besides, the lab maps are amazingly expensive. lol

 

But for me, I personally give gifts to people who are my neofriends year round. It's a random thing, and it's always something they can use, but it might not always be expensive :P

I don't have a real wish list, but I know that it's difficult to buy for people, so I can give a few suggestions. I like to collect stamps, and I have a Slorg gallery on my main. I also have a tentacle gallery on one of my sides (xellotath), which includes any items that have tentacles, including squid, Uniocto, etc.

I think giving presents is fun, and I love Christmas, so I just can't resist.

 

I used to be in a guild with a small number of members, and we used to give each other gifts all the time. It was a lot of fun! Only thing is, even though it was three or four years ago, I would feel guilty selling some of the items (though I'm tempted because I've saving NP right now).
