aw090
So, I'm rather new to the Altador Plot and I am only working on finding my first constellation, but when a CTRL + V my data nothing I happens. I followed all the instructions (CTRL + A, CTRL + C, CTRL + V, and 'find stars') and still nothing. Any help?
Xepha
You want to check that Javascript is enable in your browser, and try again. If that doesn't work, redo the few last steps and try again. Usually, it solves the problem :) Good luck!
aw090
I still can't get it to work. =[ I guess I'll just have to find my stars on my own.
Xepha
I forgot to say, you had to clear your cache before redoing the steps... You can also try in another browser. Sometimes it works.
aw090
Oh, I'll give it another try then.
Rae
I thought they took the plot down... I went to go redo some steps and they wouldn't work...
Kuroida
It's still up...isn't it...it better be because I'm working on it now o.o
antiaircraft
It is. I'm not sure where the idea that it was taken down came from, but as far as I know it's definitely still working.
aw090
I tried what you suggested and still can't get it to work. I don't think it is copying the information the star finder needs. neopets petpet park nick teennick shockwave more nickjr addictinggames nicktoons nick at nite upick daily parents connect spongebob icarly.com troopgrid quizilla nick arcade nickjr arcade nickjr boost Welcome, chop_109 | NP: 11,038 | Logout » Control Panel » Preferences » Edit Profile » Neomail » Neofriends » Create a Neopet » Redeem Code » Customise Neopet » Inventory » Closet » Neohomes » Storage Shed » Create a Neopet » Games Room » Top Rated » High Scores » Favourites » Key Quest » Map of Neopia » Tutorial » Weather » Pronunciation » Neopedia » New Features » Coming Soon » Neopian Times » Merch News » Main » Calendar » World Events » Neopian Pound » Neoboard Index » Preferences » Neopia Central » Shop Wizard » Your Shop » Auctions » Trading Post » Bank » Merchandise » Shop » Get Neocash » Neocash Cards » Redeem Neocash Card 6:04:31 am NST 6753Hemingway » Customise Species: Aisha Health: 8 / 8 Mood: delighted! jesse_rocket
Ah, there's your problem. You want to copy and paste the source code of the page, not the page itself. Depending on what web browser you're using, you should be able to Right-click on the page, and somewhere in the menu should be something about "Source" or "Show Source Code" or something like that. If you're still having problems finding that, let me know what web browser you're using, and I'll walk you through it, I have most major ones installed. :)
aw090
Thanks for your help, jesse_rocket. I found the source, but when I hit 'find stars' nothing happens.
jesse_rocket
You don't end up with a bunch of coordinates in the boxes underneath?
aw090
Nope. And it is really slow. Like, I kinda think the page doesn't even redirect.
antiaircraft
Actually, you don't need to copy the page source at all. Note that the finder explicitly asks you to select all and copy from your star data page, and even provides a link - that's this one: http://www.neopets.com/altador/astro.phtml?get_star_data=1 Perhaps it should be in giant bright red bold letters? :P Good luck with the plot! :)
jesse_rocket
D'oh, I was totally misremembering how it works, apologies for the misinformation! >.<
antiaircraft
No worries - to be frank, on the star data page, the page source and contents are the same anyway. :P
