fadedangel416
I was hoping to play Dice Escape to get the avatar, but I can't seem to get the game to work. None of the shockwave games work in firefox so I use IE for them, but for some reason with Dice, the first level works fine but then the game freezes on level two and I end up having to close down IE. Does anyone know of a browser that Dice Escape works in, or what I can do for it to not freeze on level 2?
Pirate Dante
For all I hate IE, the only thing I will use it for are the Shockwave games (For obvious reasons). Dice Escape works fine for me, although when an ad pops up below the game screen, you have to click on the game window again. That's a pain. Maybe that's the problem? Wembly
I play it in Safari and don't usually have a problem but I know I have shockwave issue too with the Hannah games especially and randomly some times they will be fine and other times they won't load at all so I'd say just keep trying the different browsers or try refreshing a lot, sometimes that helps me. Angeló
I can't play Dice Escape , Gourmet Bowls , Hannah and the Pirate Caves or Slorg Attack on ANY of the 3 browsers (IE , FF and Chrome) and I don't want to download yet another browser (Safari is it?) just for that ... Rae
I also play the game in Safari and have no problems, but I remember that when I used my dell to play games and none of the Shockwaves would work right on IE or Firefox. There might be a plug in error. Other sites use Shockwave too so you could try looking at Yahoo Answers, or maybe send a ticket in to Neopets. Maybe if they get enough of them they'll realize these Shockwave games are a pain.
fadedangel416
Thanks all. :) I might try downloading Safari to see if it works; if it doesn't I can always just uninstall the browser. Bony Dante, I too loathe IE, and Neo and website testing are the only reasons I have it. The problem is not with needing to re-click in the game after an ad changes; the game definitely freezes. =/ It's odd though, I didn't have any trouble at all with Pirate Caves in IE, and the only trouble Slorg gave me was that it slowed down every time the ads on the page changed. (Which, I wish ad-block was compatible with IE! D:) --edited to add: I downloaded Safari, and while it still freezes on level 2, I'm able to get past the freeze and from there it was fine until I completed level 5. After that, my entire computer screen started flashing with black lines... has anyone else had this problem?? I updated the flash player to the most current version, so why would it cause my screen to start flashing? And the flashing stopped once I got the game closed out, so it was definitely coming from the game.
antiaircraft
From the look of it, you may need to update your computer's graphics drivers, and doing a complete reinstall of Flash and Shockwave might help too. I'm not sure if that'll solve the problem though, or if there's any way to solve the problem, considering the level of crap we're dealing with. <_< Best of luck though. (Which, I wish ad-block was compatible with IE! D:) You may find this guide interesting. ;)
fadedangel416
Thanks, AA. I'll check into that. :) I'm not sure what's going on, if it's an issue on my end or Neo's end, but something about shockwave doesn't like me, because my computer did a BSOD while I was playing Pirate Caves this morning. D: That's the first BSOD I've ever had on this computer, and it's a year and a half old. O.o -edited- Thanks for the guide! It's nice to have no Neo ads in IE; they were definitely a pain while playing the games on there.
antiaircraft
Wow. o_O If you're hitting the BSoD, then I'm really beginning to suspect your graphics drivers. Shockwave is probably using hardware acceleration of some sort, which is tripping a driver bug and causing freezes and crashes. Beyond updating your graphics drivers, I'm not sure there's much that can be done about that.
fadedangel416
Hm. According to windows my graphic drivers are up-to-date... I guess Dice Escape will just have to be one of the avatars I don't get, and hopefully I won't have any more blue screen issues. D: Thanks for the help! :)
antiaircraft
Well... any idea what your graphics card model is? Sometimes the vendors will distribute updates separately from Microsoft.
