Not sure whether or not this has been previously discussed but I completed the plot and collected my prizes that day, meaning no Finneus avatar :(

Is there any way or re-doing it so that I could get it? Or would I have to start a new account?

After you complete the plot, you can collect a prize daily. You get the avatar on the first day you collect your daily prize, AFTER you collect the main prizes.
