When does trick or treating begin?

I thought it only happened on Halloween day. That's how I remember it being, ayway. -shrug-

Don't mean to hijack, but I've always wondered how does Trick or Treating work? I've never participated since I'm usually on Guild Wars for their event.

I think it is only on Halloween. However, last year Edna had an area where she gave out goodies for most of October, IIRC. I was wondering if they were going to do it again?

I'm pretty sure you get free Goodie Bags, and you open them, and that's Trick Or Treaing. I might be wrong, though.
