Auctioned Items & Random Events

If I have an item I'm currently offering in an auction, is it still possible for a random event like the paint devil to take it away? What if I land on the paint devil on the wheel of misfortune?

Anything in trade or auction is safe. It can't be touched by REs or anything else.

Items for auction or trade is fine. It has a special lock that the paint devil can't unlock. :P

I always thought it would be on a time lock...

Or is that what you meant?

 

....And also, when I first saw the title, I thought you meant there was a RE that put an item in auction!
