Octopus
So I was playing Neoquest the day before yesterday and was at around level 42. But when I tried to play the game today, the Neoquest page was blank except for an option to start a new game in Normal mode!! Does anyone know how I can get my game back? I'm very sure that I didn't press anything that said 'start over' :(
Spritzie
Did you switch active pets? I think I heard people saying you have to play with the same pet as your active. (I'm not sure, as I haven't played Neoquest yet.)
Batman
In neoquest I you have to keep the same active pet while you play. In neoquest II it doesn't matter what pet you have active. I have actually debating if i wanted to start these on insane mode o_O
Octopus
Thanks so much to both of you! I was beginning to worry that the Neoquests were malfunctioning for me because when I started Neoquest II Insane mode something went weird with the health bars-they were decreasing from the sides rather than from the right (maybe that's a separate problem, hehe)...but yay, now I have my game back! Edit: Another question-how much should I invest in spectral and life magic the next time I play? I started Neoquest I a long time ago and accidentally invested a few points in fire magic. Now I don't have enough to improve glacier strike :S.
flyingeevee
For the second question, try to invest at least 3-4 points on each Spectral Magic and about 5-6 on Life magic (not including Resurrection at all!) I'm more of a Shock and Life magic person when I play Neoquest, but try to put a little on Spectral magic for Evasion and Reflex. I don't ever invest on the elemental magic, but that's just me ^_^
maldoror122
I never invest in fire or ice either :laughingsmiley: Find spectral, shock and life much more useful.
Quark
I love shock magic. Nothing makes me happier than stunning the opponent for a round or two. :) I just got the life wand from Erik and I LOVE it. I don't have any points in fire, but I have a few in ice magic because I really didn't know much better, haha. The snowball is worthless! maldoror122
Even Glacier Strike is not very useful... In later rounds, you'll notice that the turns it takes to charge the glacier could be used for simple attacking, which could do just as much damage as the actual glacier strike. :worried:
Unstream
I followed the guide on the bottom of this page and it's been pretty good: http://www.idnq-guide.com/index.php?page=viewguide&id=
Octopus
I see, thanks! Ever since I reached Two Rings, Second Floor I stopped using Glacier Strike because almost every opponent resists it :(. Not getting it next time. Is it just me or is the Life Staff way better than the Moonstone Staff, which is supposedly the best weapon in the game? Edit: I just beat Neoquest Normal mode!!!! *clicks button to start Evil* :D
Riverus
Since this has turned into a general Neoquest thread, when you play Neoquest 1 on Insane, do you go back to the very beginning of the game if you die? I'm just about done playing it on Evil, but I rarely die anyway. I'm having trouble on Insane in Neoquest 2 though. I've always had trouble until I got Mipsy, and I've tried many times on Insane and so far I haven't made it.

I am not sure about the first question. :sad01_anim: As for neoquest II, however, are you saying you tend to die before beating Zombom? Because you should probably be around level 14 or so when you fight Zombom. :laughingsmiley:
Riverus
When I play Neoquest II on Evil, I get to the point where I can`t get anymore points from the monsters in the Northern Marches, but I cannot for the life of me eat the monsters in the Underground Cave. I have always struggled at that point, and I have no idea how to get myself through alive.
maldoror122
Well, you should be able to beat a few monsters in the caves before you get dangerously close to dying. When your HP becomes too low, move outside of the caves, go on normal mode and start moving to get HP gain (massacring the weak monsters in the marches) before going back to the caves :king: It was definitely painful and tedious (the most of the whole game, actually) but you'll get through eventually.
Lamppost
I followed the guide on the bottom of this page and it's been pretty good: http://www.idnq-guide.com/index.php?page=viewguide&id=3 That's the guide I use, too. I find the skill selection is good, especially if you follow the suggested order. As the author says, you'll find yourself defending, stunning and healing a lot which is exactly what you want! Since this has turned into a general Neoquest thread, when you play Neoquest 1 on Insane, do you go back to the very beginning of the game if you die? I've always had trouble until I got Mipsy, and I've tried many times on Insane and so far I haven't made it. You do go back to the beginning on Insane if you die. In fact, you don't keep any of your skills, and the game is just over. I've died 3 times on Insane for NQ I already, mostly because I take a chance when my HP is dangerously low. I hate using potions; I always try to save them, and end up losing. Once I got into the 40s on level and died. The other times I tend to die before or shortly after beating Kreai. Also, NQ II becomes a lot easier once you get Mipsy, even on Insane. I had the same problem on Insane where I just couldn't get to her, and she was what I needed in order to survive! I finally did it, though, so I hope that is inspiring to you. Good luck! :)
Octopus
Thanks! :D I know Neoquest II Insane is a whole other level but here's my advice-overlevel! I took too many chances in Normal and lost to the four faeries five times...in Evil I made sure to go two levels over each boss's level and never died. For those who have played NQI Evil-is Mastermind that difficult to defeat? The rumors are scaring me.
