Yesterday's results have left some bitter, some sweet, and some bittersweet. Let's start with the matchup between Krawk Island and Roo Island. Roo Island, the team that made an amazing comeback this year, faltered against last year's Champs, as they lost both Yooyuball and Slushie Slinger. However, the Rooligans drew Make Some Noise, and won their specialty game - Shootout Showdown. However, Roo Island managed to stay in the top tier.

The next matchup of the day was between Team Meridell and Team Kiko Lake. Team Meridell was on form as they managed to win all the games except Slushie Slinger, in which the water dwelling kikos managed to rust up the Knights' suits and immobilize the Knights. This was a bittersweet victory, as it meant that Meridell was once again denied a spot in the top tier. This matchup tied Meridell's YYB record with Roo Island's YYB record, something the Knights were looking forward too after Roo Island managed to recently snag the title of Best Yooyuball Team. Ironically, both Meridell and Roo Island have beaten every other team at least once in YYB - except for each other.

The third matchup of the day took place between the Mystery Island Natives and the Kreludor Moons. Mystery Island has recently faltered and was hoping for a bit of redemption today, but only managed a draw against Team Kreludor. The Moons are looking ahead to the finals now, where they hope to win the Cup for the first time. However, with 2 former champs as well as a Team Lost Desert that is hungry to finally place higher on the coveted podium, the Moons might not have an easy going.

Our next matchup between Darigan Citadel and Tyrannia ended on a high note for the Minions, as they managed a YYB win and an MSN draw against the Fossils. The Fossils managed to take Slushie Slinger and Shootout Showdown. While some say that this is not that great of a result for a team as powerful as Darigan Citadel, don't forget that Tyrannia is the top Slushie Slinger team, and 4th and 5th best team in MSN and SHSH respectively.

The fifth matchup of the day took place in the blazing Neopian sun, as Terror Mountain took on the hosts, Altador, in a battle between hot and cold. The Altador Suns managed to draw Yooyuball and win Slushie Slinger, giving them the overall win against the Chillers. However, Team Terror Mountain managed to win their usual Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown.

The day's sixth game was a duel between Team Virtupets and Team Lost Desert. The Marauders managed to win Yooyuball, but drew Slushie Slinger. The Robots managed to scream out their lungs - er, speakers - and win Make Some Noise. The Robots also were victorious in Shootout Showdown, using their precise calculations to shoot the ball past the goalie hundreds of times.

As they heat waned and the tensions grew, Shenkuu faced off against Moltara. Easily called the worst team this year, Moltara was looking to win something on the last day before the Finals. However, the Ninjas managed to sweep the entire match, giving Moltara a disappointing last day.

The same outcome happened between Maraqua and Faerieland, as the Faeries were completely swept by the Piranhas.

As Team Haunted Woods faced off Team Brightvale, an eerie darkness was cast over the stadium. For the Mummies, this was not a problem as they hail from a dark land, and they won everything except Shooutout Showdown, which Brightvale managed to win. While the Dark Faeire Jhudora was accused of creating this cloud, the Altador Cup Committee refused to have the match replayed.

OMG the Altador Cup V is coming to a close! Well, it's been a fun time, even though we did end in last.

Our final mission is to get into 17th place. AT ALL COST!!

And congrats to Shenkuu for providing everyone with a wonderful 'last hurrah'. :king:

the Altador Cup Committee refused to have the match replayed.

That made me chuckle. Perhaps some of the referees will be sent home?

Anywho, since we're going to assume that the Winner's Curse is still at least somewhat intact for both RI and DC, and considering that LD has been trying for two years now to get a spot, I think there can be no other choice but for the Marauders to play as hard as diamond this week! After all, pressure makes the best gems. And if I could think of any more pun-metaphors, I would but I should stop now.

1) Of course Roo Island stayed in the top tier. Each team had at least 4 points more than Brightville, so even if they lost everything they would have stayed there.

2) Arn't the Lost Desert the mummies? Haunted woods are more like ghosts or zombies... :crying:

Finally this torture has come to an end! We have to get 5th for CAV, he joined thinking we would win and it'll be bad if his former team, Meridell, do better than us. Also, 5/18 is better then 5/16 so let's do this MARAQUAAAAAAA!!!!!!

hey wait a minute what is happenin

It's double round robin. Once the teams are locked into tiers play still continues so that you can become the winner of your tier.
