Someone is going around emailing people to buy their Neopets accounts. This is clearly a scam and should not be trusted and it is illegal to do on Neopets.

I got that Neomail. :O I reported it and deleted it. Who would do that and expect people to buy it? :S

I'm betting it's someone trying to get that account frozen. Most likely they got frozen by now. TNT freezes pretty quick.

I said email, not neomail. They are actually going around finding emails of people from sites like this and emailing people. It happens in neomails too.

I cannot reach the email that I signed into Neopets with. Is it alright that I leave it alone?

Like I said, you are safe never and nowhere. Going around e-mailing people about buying accounts is dumb and will get that person banned pretty quick. (Especially if they're e-mailing AND neomailing.)If they aren't just trying to get banned, then maybe some unlucky people will get their accounts stolen. But they should be frozen anyway if they're responding to someone who wants to buy/sell accounts. :\

I think that there is more than one person trying to do this right now. I got a neomail AND an email. I think they are from different people, but I cannot be sure. :worried:

Well, I deleted the neomail but this is basically what they said:

Hi. I am leaving Neopets forever and I want YOU to have my account. Go here to see how much I want. No credit cards, I only accept cash.

TNT isn't quick when it comes to freezing accounts. They are when it's suspension since that's automatic. But when it comes to freezing, I think it takes a little longer to process. But you could be right, although I'd think of it as a longer process than the other consequences that are taken to action.

 

That's horrible, but kind of funny that someone could actually try and get away with something like that (that is if someone allowed that). Where is it coming from exactly?

^ Maybe it's just the neoboards then. Post something against the rules there and you'll be banned within minutes. I assumed it would be the same for neomail.
