Good time-of-day to all you Altador Cup players out there! The results for another day of the tournament are in, and despite June 7th's array of astounding outcomes it seems that the Cup isn't about to let the analysts rest on their laurels. The Maraquan squad seems to be well and truly ready to tangle with the top league after their match with the Moons yesterday. Team Kreludor simply couldn't stand up to the Mermaids' turbulent gameplay in Yooyuball or Shootout Showdown, and barely managed to keep up with the waves of slushies being hurled at the stands. The Moons did manage to scoot ahead in Make Some Noise, but all in all it was a sound victory for Team Maraqua. Still seated in fifth place, the Mermaids might not be the most formidable powerhouse out there, but they've certainly got a chance at making group one in the days ahead. Roo Island and Meridell, two more teams that seem to be steadily on their way up the standings, also had strong showings in their matches. The Roos gave the top-seated Lost Desert Marauders a run for their money, drawing Yooyuball and scoring their way to victory in Shootout Showdown. The Marauders managed to keep the overall win by taking Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise, but it was a close call, and we can say with confidence that the Roos are another ex-champion team revving up for a shot at the top tier. The Knights, meanwhile, have quite a remarkable achievement under their sword belts. They've become the first team this year to flat out defeat the Tyrannian Fossils in noise making. While the boisterous cheers of Meridell's supporters drowned out the Fossils' enthusiastic 'UGGA!'s, their Yooyuball squad raced ahead in the goal count, and their slushie servers managed to outpace even the legendary Tyrannian stands. The Fossils were only able to grab a win in Shootout Showdown. They're still the most ferocious side gamers in the Cup, but this defeat is sure to leave a mark on their record. Altador and Faerieland, our two persevering underdogs from yesterday's report, pulled off a couple more targeted upsets in their games for the day. Team Altador managed a repeat of their performance on day thirteen, drawing in Slushie Slinger against the Krawk Island Pirates. The Faeries went one better, battling it out with the Darigan Citadel to draw even in both Slushie Slinger and Shootout Showdown. "Once again," remarked one Faerieland supporter, "this just goes to show that you should never underestimate us. Well actually... you should, then we'll be able to win more!" The Terror Mountain Chillers also did better than expected against the Shenkuu Ninjas. While Team Shenkuu crushed Prytariel's squad in Yooyuball, the Chillers hit back hard in all the side games, evening up the match to just a narrow loss. Incidentally, following Tyrannia's loss in Make Some Noise, Team Terror Mountain is now not only the one team in the Cup with a perfect winning streak (in Shootout Showdown), but also the only team to remain completely undefeated in any game. The sweep of the day went to the Haunted Woods Zombies, who overwhelmed the Moltaran's Torchwood and swarmed to an across-the-board victory. Mystery Island was also triumphant, claiming Make Some Noise and Yooyuball against the Brightvale Wizards. The Wizards were shrewd enough to latch on to openings in Slushie Slinger and Shootout Showdown however, and they're still several spaces above the Natives on the leaderboard. Last (but not least), the Virtupets Robots flexed some of their old scoring muscle, winning against the Kikos in Shootout Showdown and Yooyuball. Kiko Lake was able to retaliate by outslinging the Robots at the stands, but Virtupets sealed the match when they took a win in Make Some Noise. The last few days of round one are shaping up to be exciting ones all over the leaderboard. Krawk Island and Shenkuu will be playing a rematch of last year's finals today, reliving the classic Pirates versus Ninjas battle on terms that seem just as even as before for the moment. Up in group one, Team Meridell is taking on the Kreludor Moons. There's no guarantee that the winner of this match will be able to keep their top tier position for long, but it may very well be that the loser is destined to slide slowly back down the rankings. Terror Mountain and Tyrannia will be locking horns in a momentous battle as well, not only because they both have names starting with a 'T', but also seeing as they're among this year's top side gaming teams. Finally, near the gateway to group one, the Roos and the Mermaids will be playing their hardest to prove themselves as genuine top-spot contenders. This is going to be quite a year! Well, that's all. This is AA, reporting for The Daily Neopets, signing off. Play well!

CAV of Gang Green
Woah!? We beat Kreludor? And I don't get it. FL was able to draw one side game when they faced MQ, keeping a sweep out of reach. But now they drew 2 games against DC, while DC is in 2ND PLACE. Hmmmm. CS! Come and explain yourself.
Shane for Wax
Let's go to work Ninjas! I'm gonna be playing as much Yooyuball as I can! Not much compared to some admittedly but it's still something I think!

tempdisplay
YAY! We're the front image :D We did REALLY great, like WOW! But RI drew with LD who we lost to. Today should be interesting. But I can say, Piranha mode is a GO!
-Ryan
Ha! Well that's a slap in the face right there, ain't it? We got pwned into getting rid of this arrogant thing our members had, about time too. You should've seen them against Kreludor Only 74k in YYB at the Minions board. No excuse for that...

voteforpedro333
I see that the winner's curse is rubbing off of at least two teams now. Good game to RI of course, glad to see you guys back on track! I have to say though, I really want to see an MQ Piranha mode. Here's my reasoning: LD first, then Meridell and DC as 2nd/3rd, and MQ fourth. Then the semis will be two awesome games of true opposites, Land versus Sea (the Beach Wars, as I would like to coin) and the Kingdom versus the Intruders (aka the Renaissance wars). Come on, how cool would that be? Of course, I really want to root for Kreludor too since we were in the finals together last year... :S I want everyone to do awesome this year. Play on, players, play on!
Person335
Seriously, I am getting really tired of seeing red all over the results page. But at least I get out of school tomorrow! Now you're all are going to see a new team logo in the higher ranks! Just wait for it... it WILL happen!
