Do you like Marmite?

Just wondering. I haven't tasted it, only smelt it and decided to back-off straight away lol. How about you? Do you like it? And why?

I think it's very similar or the same thing as Vegemite

I've heard of it (yum!). You can buy it in New Zealand, Australia, England and Canada (and maybe other places in speciality shops). It's an acquired taste, but is GOOD!

I've never actually tasted it and I'm not sure I want to eat anything that smells so awful :laughingsmiley:

But I must admit that I am a little curious as to what it really tastes like.

I have this friend in England. He is quite awesome. Some of you know him, as he was moderator on TDN forums before. Anyway, this summer... Matt came to Canada. And he brought with him a parcel full of food to mail me. The package got lost, and I got it over a month later.

 

The parcel contained british things. One of them was a sample of Marmite. I had no idea what it was. I tried it on a toast in the morning. The smell was bad, but it's nothing compared to the taste. I couldn't swallow at all.

 

Sorry to everyone who enjoy that product. XD I prefer our poutine and maple syrup XD.

If it's supposed to be like vegemite - yuckers! It's an acquired taste, that's for sure! I tried it while living in NewZealand... never again ;)

Haven't tried it yet! {Marmite....But Pa might not..Yeah that's from the Impossible Quiz}But I have a feeling that I might not like it...lol
