seuzy13
I don't play KeyQuest that much, but the last few times I've been bumped off abruptly in mid-game. It wasn't the other player quitting, just a connection problem, I think. But I feel bad whenever that happens, because I'm afraid they'll think I quit. I would never quit a KeyQuest game unless I had too, because it's such a waste of (already wasted) time otherwise. And I never begin a game unless I'm relatively sure nothing will come up while I'm playing. It just makes sense, you know? A single unfinished KeyQuest game can take a decent chunk of your day away. Anyway, connection problems and people quitting kind of discourage me from playing KeyQuest most of the time. =(
chubit
I don't quit, but I often feel as if I should. This is mainly because I am a complete noob at the game and thus far I have yet to attain any basic skills as 'experts' play the noob board just for the easy wins. siemis
IAlthough, some people seem to get incredibly high scores in minigames, scores that I've never even been able to get near when my computer is having a good day and the other person is lagging. Perhapsthey have a graphic tablet like me. I was a few times near to use it but it seems unfair^^" But so you could do better scores very easily I think. I never quit on purpose but I had connecting problems so it quit on me... I try to neomail when I can remember the username. I play only two player games it doesn't take that long and you get the silver key for sure... Sure I would like to quit a few times (because I rolled 1 four times in a ROW I had nothing and the other player had ALL keys ) But then I just hang into to, get the thing over so I can start over with new luck.^^" The mini games are a pain too~ I have a fast internet access, I bought my computer a month ago and still << I cant use my mouse right
marchigiano
I have never EVER quit a game on any one. I've been quit on 4 times in a row today. I don't understand what the reasoning is. You still win all the NP you earned, and prizes.
jetaime
I only quit once- the person was being RUTHLESS and mean, and it was not a fun game like it's supposed to be.
elvenstrawberry
I've never quit on anyone on purpose. My computer one day decided to throw up on me though so now I have a less than perfect rating. <_< I use a negative powerup even if I'm two squares away from the door. If I'm one, I don't bother, but I've been in games where either I or the other person rolls a one when they're two steps away, and then something random happens, or the other person gets a chance to intervene. There was even one time I didn't quit when I suspected the other person was cheating, since I was like hey, what if I'm just terrible? :laughingsmiley: (I'm not, apparently.) SlightlyCautious
The only times I've quit were when I had to step away from the computer, like once when my cat was choking on a piece of plastic, or if my husband needs me. Even then, I always leave the screen open, just in case they can win or I'll be back before the two skipped turns are up. But intentionally quitting just because I'm losing? No, I'm too selfish for that. I had another person skip a turn on a GLB twice (I wanted to make sure!) late in the game and I thought about quitting to prove a point. Then I was like, eh, I still want the silver key. Oh, and about using negative powerups when you're about to win? The only time it bothers is if they have say, a jelly dice AND a keygrabber, and instead of winning (using the jelly dice) they prolong the game by using the keygrabber and then rolling a 1. What irritates me even more is when players have all the keys, but prolong the game by hitting the treasure chest. I had a player once that had all the keys and 2 jelly dice, and went all the way around twice just to get the NP. That was the only time I felt it was rubbed in my face. I think I had maybe two keys, and all I kept thinking was, "I could be halfway through the next game, but I have to sit here and wait because this person wants an extra 300NP." Sofa
I wish there was some way of distinguishing between when people have quit because they don't want to 'lose' and when they've quit because of computer issues. I've dropped out of quite a few games because the Adobe Flash Plugin has crashed, and always feel really bad about it. I don't know why people quit if they think they're going to end up second though, you can still get decent stuff with silver keys and surely it's better to have got something for the time you've spent playing than nothing at all? grizzlybehr
I don't know why anyone would actually want to quit. Finishing with a non-gold key is still better than wasting your time.
Fever
I rarely play KeyQuest because it's so outrageously laggy, and sadly I play morons who enjoy waiting until the last second (literally) to make a play. Not to mention it's frustrating enough when it's lagging and making my computer work really really hard, but it's frustrating when I am losing horribly because of it. I usually quit unless i'm playing with my friends :P
marchigiano
I don't know why anyone would go out of their way to quit, especially right at the end of the game. It's such a waste of time for both players. I find almost always, it's when I play with kids under 13. So annoying.
soup
I've never quit just because I'm behind, because I'd rather get something out of the game than nothing, but my computer tends to freeze up while playing and I have no choice but to quit :/
Manta
Ugh, I don't understand why someone would quit Keyquest. It's such a waste of time for all involved, and all you get out of it is being a troll. Congrats >.> I can sympathize if your computer doesn't like Flash, because the game freezes on me all the time. But quitting because you're losing? That's just pointless. This is why I only play KQ with my brother. :P
Maxx Oris
No and frankly people who quit intentionally while playing to avoid loosing should be banned from playing. It is disgraceful, cheating and disrespectful. I have had it happen quite a lot recently.
jesse_rocket
I'm shocked that that even happens. I only started playing KQ today and everyone I played with was well-behaved enough. What a RUDE thing to do (deliberately) :(
Maxx Oris
It happens a lot, nearly a third of all games I play end up in a quit. I'm not sure how other people find it but I find it happens a lot. Which is a shame since it ruins a good game - since you get prizes either way you'd think people would be happy.

Indeed, I think it's extremely generous that you generally get a decent haul of swag, regardless of if you win or lose, it seems ridiculously petty and rude to throw a hissy fit just because you yourself aren't going to get the best thing on offer. Maxx Oris
Quite true and in fact I make a list of the people who have done that to me, and I will refuse to play anyone of them. If everyone did that then they would soon learn that it isn't acceptable to just walk out when you aren't winning.
Octopus
^^I find it ridiculous as well. Quitters, learn how to take a loss. ^Good idea.
Maxx Oris
I'm quite annoyed. It has happened several times again today. I've been checking and it seems that most of the ones who do it are classed as under 13s. Maybe they shouldn't be permitted to play? Meh. skylar_noel
I'm quite annoyed. It has happened several times again today. I've been checking and it seems that most of the ones who do it are classed as under 13s. Maybe they shouldn't be permitted to play? Meh. I really hate that idea because I'm in the under 13 group and I have NEVER quit a game on purpose (I think my computer froze once or twice) and I've played over 1000 games. There's already so much I can't do because of my age I'd be really upset if I lost KeyQuest. My mom won't sign the form, so I'd be out of luck. I know what you mean about quitters though cause since I can't have neofriends I always have to play with random people and I get quit on a bunch. Maxx Oris
Unfortunately the numbers seem to weigh against you - I'm not saying ALL the under 13 players do - but it seems a lot do. I've tried to neomail quite a few of them and explain quitting if a bad idea... unfortunately TNT, in their infinite wisdom, decided to block neomail requests when the account holder is under 13. Octopus
I don't understand the no neomails for people under 13 policy. Everything is censored on Neopets anyways :laughingsmiley:.
Rebeka
I think I quit once or twice, because my computer froze in the middle of mini game and I couldn't do anything so I had to restart it. But I don't quit on purpose, because I know how it feels. Once the internet cable was pulled out in the middle of the game and I felt sooo bad (the other player didn't believe me and thought I quit). One player quit on me today and I'm sooo pissed ( I could get pb or codestones ..). If I'm losing I don't quit, because I still get some NPs. I really hate not being able to neomail under 13-ers. WHAT ARE WE GONNA DO ANYWAYS. It's not like we can say bad things since everything gets censored anyways. And kids are already exposed to like. everything bad. :
