Strawberri
Hey everyone Does anyone know a good blocker for cookie grabbers that works with Firefox 3.0.13? And I also have a question about the ad-blocking software: how does it allow neopets cookies, yet block cookies in shops? Thanks!

PotPie
I think noscript should work for this. Not completely sure though =/. Although I'd reccomend you get it anyways, even if it doesn't stop CG'ers Edit: Shoot, necro'ed. Sorry >_<
Viridian
Err well at least the thread was not inactive for too long. I have noscript too though I must say I haven't the foggiest of how it works o.o
flyingeevee
I'm nowadays just deleting my cookies and history stuff before I visit shops, layouts, petpages, etc. I'm seriously scared of cookie grabbers :(
antiaircraft
Okay, here goes nothing... And I also have a question about the ad-blocking software: how does it allow neopets cookies, yet block cookies in shops? Ad blockers don't really have anything to do with cookies. Ads are usually page elements (with images, scripts, and so on), whereas cookies are little bits of information which your browser allows a website to store on your computer (and subsequently passes back to the website when necessary). Many websites, including Neopets, use cookies to store your login information so they can figure out who you are logged in as. Cookie grabbers are scripts which try and read these cookies to steal your login information. I think noscript should work for this. Not completely sure though =/. Although I'd reccomend you get it anyways, even if it doesn't stop CG'ers Yes indeed, NoScript is a good solution for stopping cookie grabbers on Neopets. I have noscript too though I must say I haven't the foggiest of how it works o.o NoScript basically blocks the execution of all JavaScript (and hence, all JavaScript-based cookie grabbers, which are the main problem on Neopets). You can then tell it to allow JavaScript from specific, trusted sources. :) I'm nowadays just deleting my cookies and history stuff before I visit shops, layouts, petpages, etc. Uh... you do realise that since Neopets uses cookies to keep track of your login, this effectively logs you out right? stephie23
I did notice that when I used a cookie cleaner I was logged out of neo :P lol. So that method is totally unhelpful then! haha
antiaircraft
So other than noscript, what would you recommend then? For getting rid of CGs? Software-wise, NoScript is the best protection I know of. But more importantly, what you need is a little common sense. :) Don't follow links in suspicious neomails or posts on the neoboards, change your password regularly, that sort of thing. spem-k
Ok. Somehow people have managed to get them on their userlookups, petpages, shops, etc. There are even some members on jellyneo that have been sending people pms with links to cookie grabbers. DO NOT CLICK ANY LINKS SENT THROUGH NEOMAIL OR PM ON JELLYNEO. Also I would advise not visiting userlookups, shops, galleries, etc., of strangers. If you think you have clicked a cookie grabber, change your pass on neopets and your email.
