Some say its a biblical reference to Soloman and the queen of Sheba... to do with a baby in the womb having only the placental orifice (sp?) open and when they are born that closes and all the nose, eyes, mouth, etc orifices open. Then when you die they all close again and the door to heaven opens. Then I heard someone else say it was refering to a dam - apparently a dam works with 10 different doors, one being open while the other 9 are closed and vice versa. Confusing, right? Quote
