Joshua
When I navigate around on the neopets site, all the images are slightly blurred. I haven't adjusted any settings and I've been using firefox for about a week now, and it just started messing up like two days ago. I don't know why it's doing this. Could someone please help? Below is an example of what I'm talking about. This topic has been edited by a member of staff (Anime). The topic was posted in the wrong area. shiranui_xiii
I've never played Neopets extensively on IE, but I do get the same thing when I click an item and my inventory. The pop-up box shows the item, but it's incredibly blurry. At first I chalked this up to my dial-up accelerator (which compresses and distorts some images to load pages faster), but after some research, I read that it has something to do with how Firefox upscales it's images. If this is true, then there's no way to fix it. I saved a copy of what the website said: "Firefox3 uses a bilinear filter on scaled images, and as far as I know (and read), there's no way to turn it off. There's not even a flag for it in about:config." I hope this helps some.
antiaircraft
Well if it was working fine before, then there should be a way to fix it. I should add that it's virtually impossible to upscale images without blurring them, so don't put the blame on Firefox. ;) (FYI, the bilinear filter is there for a reason. It actually improves the quality of scaled images so they don't end up pixelated.) Off the top of my head, the most likely cause of the problem is that you zoomed in/out on a Neopets page at some point in time (Firefox remembers zoom preferences for sites). This, of course, forces Firefox to scale the images and thus blurs them. You can reset the zoom for a site by going to View > Zoom > Reset or just pressing Ctrl + 0. If that doesn't fix the problem, it's probably something else.
