I was wondering if the age of your petpet is reset when your petpet changes species? I know it will if you remove them but I wasn't sure about zapping them..

From what I've experienced during petpet zapping I haven't seen a change of age of my petpet's age to zero.

If anyone has, feel free to post but no, I don't think that will happen. :)

No your pet age stays the same because it is basically the same pet but just zapped.

My petpet was recently zapped pirate from ... I can't even remember what it was now!

However if I remove my petpet (after zapping) then it reverts back to what I originally equiped my pet with.

What's been said above is correct ^^ Your petpets age won't be altered by the changing of its species.

Just remember the petpet lab can make your petpet disappear with a zap D: That's why I don't use it, I'm not risking my well-aged petpets.

It's best to use the Petpet Lab Ray on, say, the Altachuck that King Altador has given you for the fifth time than on something that costs a good bit of NP in its initial form. No one's going to miss that Altachuck anyway. <.<

Ok guys thanks, I've been using the petpet ray for a while now though. I just never noticed the age if it was changed or not.

sorry to use your topic to ask my question but here it is.

If your petpet is zapped into a krawk can you then go the fungus caves and get the krawk pet?

@Omen: No, Krawk petpet's cannot be turned to Krawk Neopets. Sorry. (I think TNT made this so people who got a Krawk petpet from zapping couldn't have that advantage over players that didn't have it)

When you are zapping your pet, it can disappear which is why its best to use a really cheap petpet. The petpet lab ray got me two days in a row! As far as age goes, its the age of the petpet when it attaches to your pet. If you get lucky, you can get zapped an avatar petpet and the already accrued age for the petpet is counts (for age dependent ones).
