pomme41
Hello forum go-ers, I, like many others I'm sure, get a bit frustrated when players quit Key Quest when I'm about to win a game, preventing me from collecting a gold key. Is there some sort of mechanism to avoid playing against these people? if not, what COULD be done? Discuss.
Daily Dare
There should be a "safety" for that. Like if you start a game and don't finish it, you have to wait XX amount of time to start another one. It wouldn't "solve" the problem, but it would deter those from doing it. I don't understand why they do it, they'll still get a key for losing, and they could open the key on a day they don't have the time to actually PLAY for Gold Keys... -Kai-
I just passed through that situation... :S it sucks, but I don't think there is much to do....

I also thought of a rating system, like a number under your username like this: kittyluverqueen883_1 Games completed/played: 59%
-Kai-
wow thats a very good idea :D have you mentioned it to staff? anyways, anyone up for a game?
pomme41
wow thats a very good idea :D have you mentioned it to staff? anyways, anyone up for a game? I haven't actually, I didn't know they were receptive to such things. How do you send a suggestion like that in? And thanks for the offer, but I'm off to bed. Have a good night. -Kai-
i think you have to send a feedback and then you have to mention your idea :D ok, sleep well
Deepti M.
Well I'll probably be up to two, because it's high time I get the Darkest Faerie avatar, but I just played a game.
FutureTXTurkey
There IsAn Official TDN Key Quest Players List: HereThat's a place where you can find good users that won't quit... As far as fixing the overall problem goes I like the ratting system. And if it's a 2P game that's been going on for more than 15min, I think the non-quitter should automatically get a lowest level key.
hrtbrk
There used to be a page where people submitted quitters but I don't know if it was removed due to people being spiteful and giving names of people they lost to or if it got shut down for obvious reasons. But what I do is, if I'm playing against someone and they quit, I add them to my ignore list. That way, we cannot play against each other again. (or so I've been told) It doesn't really stop the problem but it prevents it from happening again.

Ithil
That's a good idea. I also thought of a rating system, like a number under your username like this: kittyluverqueen883_1 Games completed/played: 59% And this will be unfair for people who have problems with their computer. I've tried to play KQ often, but my computer crashed or I was disconnected often too. I don't know the percentage however I kow I have a LOT of problems to play KQ. I nearly don't play anymore because it's so frustating but I NEVER quit a game even I was unable to complete most of the games I've entered. Just play with people who know or you know they will not quit.
sullivan
i think there actually has been done something about it...coz when my game got disconnected due to my inter net..i cudn't log into the game after that... but when i logged in from my brothers account... it logged in instantly.. i t dun know whether it was because i left the game.. Daily Dare
Ithil, if you're having that much of a problem playing KeyQuest, then maybe your computer doesn't live up to the game requirements? If that's the case, then it isn't quite fair that you're playing and causing other people inconvenience. Also, are you running a laptop or a desktop? -Kai-
in my old pc I couldn't play KQ so I stop trying but now I bought a desktop and a laptop and now in both I can play, so I recomend to upgrade your pcs components :D
Deepti M.
Well I wouldn't buy a new PC just to play Keyquest, but you could try to get the hard-drive cleaned up.
-Kai-
well I wont either, I just boght it because my old pc was a HP from 2000!! it was quite old. For cleanning drives I use CCleaner I think is good enough.

If there is a history of said player leaving the game, voluntary or not, it should be known.

I always send an apology if my internet disconnects (usually for less than a second, but it doesn't matter :grrr: ) I don't play anymore because the disconnecting is so random. naalaro
The thing is, its impossible for the system to actually know if the person quitting was quitting due to being spiteful etc, or having real problems, connectivity or otherwise. We too can never know if such quitters really did it because they were goign to lose. However, neopets could implement a system, whereas it would be impossible to quit voluntarily (computer, connections, external problems not withstanding) once any player has acquired all keys needed to open the lock. Krystalix
It is really annoying when people do that =/ But Honestly idk what they can do to make is fair for everyone, or most peple.
kan-tree-nah
I have the problem with KQ and cannot play. As soon as a mini game comes up, my laptop doesn't was to run the mini game and I loose connectivity... As such, I no longer play, even though I would like to, as I wish to collect the keys. I think the percentage thing is a good idea, so it should be suggested. And I appologise to those who may have been upset by my 'quitting'... I use a laptop and it's quite old yes (behalve some components). Don't worry, as I said I try to play very very rarely. Usually I just watch other people wining codestones, paint brushes and other prices. <_<
J.Daisy
People look really immature when they do that... Besides, the prizes are good no matter what place you place in. You could try playing a 2 on 2 with 5 keys though, that way you can gain the max amount of prizes for any lost game.
Fishie
Well, a way that I get around that is to just play with friends. It's less likely that your friend would just abandon the game if you knew the person. Of course, there are always situations where the person did not quit and their browser/game actually crashed.
