Personally, I've never really cared about items. I care about the interest button and my stocks. For me it's about financial goals meet not so much material goals met. I reached my goal in stocks (100k qty) and lets just say...I'm well over my NP goal. Unfortunately these past few months I've decided to take a break from Neopets and just log in to collect my interest and cash out any stocks due to cash out. As a matter of fact, I think I might start caring again haha

For me, the first million was the hardest to accomplish. The old saying that goes something like "you have to have money to make money," so true. After I got my first million I really was able to invest in expensive items and stocks freely. I wouldn't say I'm the best restocker or anything, but having that million NP to catch you if you falter and not have all your NP in one item sure does help.

I agree.... I mean the hardest part is getting a million, then you have a sturdy wall to catch you. Although, I wouldn't spend all of it as soon as you get to a million :sad01_anim:

I picked the uber awesome things option. If you've attained most of your goals, such as painting your pets; getting a certain amount of avatars; etc., then that's what I consider rich. What fun is millions of np just sitting in the bank?

How do you know you are really rich? This could mean vastly different things for a lot of people. I was thinking it would be interesting to find out. For me personally, I think I am rich. I have a little of each category but what makes me rich are my neofriends. ;)

yea, one of the earlier posts said that your really rich when you no longer care about where your spending your neopoints, that is sooo true, i really think that when you go and search in trading post, and see what you like, and click buy when its 30 mil+, then your probably rich, even if you only won 30mil np, thats, to me anyways, A LOT of NP.

I'm pretty anti-money-making, because I'm lazy. I do dailies, a few 100k-a-day games, and play Key Quest until my computer freezes. I have, like, 300k, 100 of which was from a Key Quest pb, the other 100k from Tarla (One Hundred Dubloon Coin).

I voted avatars, though, because when you really have a lot, it means you've spent a lot. I'll consider myself rich when:

-I have the Lab Ray.

-I have at least 200 avvies.

-I have more than 200 avvies.

Once I have the Ray, I don't think I'll do much except for get avatars, manually train Tenshi, and avatar-hunt some more. It's way too addicting. ><

I think over 300+ avatars, because you'd need millions of neopoints to get over 300. It all depends on your own goals though as other people have said, personally i train my pet whenever i can and invest 15k a day into the stock market so i have very little cash on hand but would not say i'm poor.

I voted being rich and having all the awesome things I want. I'm not as rich as I'd like to be, but I think that a few years from now, if I'm making about the same as I am now, I should be in an extremely good place. And once I'm in a good place, I can spend those nps on stamps, pbs, and lab map pieces for my sides.

Totally agree. I got a million, then spent it on lab map and started investing in stocks! Hopefully they will start to pay off soon, but until then I will appreciate the irony of my mega millions account with a balance of 60k!

Rich = being able to buy what you want when you want it xP

But I've never been rich on neopets, money or item wise. I'm happy if i can collect a decent amount of avatars and trophies and have a few cool pets :3 I'll work on the harder stuff another time xD Like a battle pet, some paint brushes for my pets, stamp collecting etc.

I think that being rich on neopets is when you have millions of neopoints, and you can buy any multi-million item you want, and all of your pets look really cool. I wish I can be like that soon. *sigh*

I'm really new on tdn, so im probably pretty poor...

but, i still am content at how many neopoints i get per day, which makes me happy.

You know when you are rich when you have so much NP that you have been able to acquire all the avatars and collect everything collectable and win a trophy for every contest that is possible...like the book club awards and such. You know you are rich when you have a full r99 gallery and have completed either illusen or jhudoras quest up to level 50.

I would call myself rich when I have 2 million in the bank AND mspp and suap as avatars. That would make me uber rich. And I'd have bragging rights. :P

:O I've got about 9m pure + 6m stock + items equalling about 5m. I'd say when you can just spend money without caring about making it back, you just know that you will. For example: today I bought a Two Hundred Dubloon Coin for 240k and resold it for 300k, but I wasn't missing the 240k at all... =\

When I first created my current account back in 2006, my goal was to become 'rich' by saving np. Over the years I've gotten use to saving a lot and spending a little, making my current total over 880k. Looking back, I do think that experiences make you rich. I've enjoyed the ACs I've been in (this is my third) and all the plots, etc. Np and items might be cool, but experiences top all.
