MariaWB Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 I clicked from News to the new game Wheeler's Wild Ride. When I did that, and when I do it again, this appears: I realise it's in danish :P so here's the translation: The top bar (over the keys) says: Establish connextion to images50.neopets.com The text just under the keys: The server images50.neopets.com at LDAP.com: images50.neopets.com requires an username and password. The other bit of text: Warning! This server is requesting that your username and password is sent in a none-secure way (basic approval without a scure connection). 'Brugernavn' means Username, and 'Adgangskode' means password, and then I can choose to save the password (Husk adgangskode). I have off course both times clicked annul (annuller), since I do not trust this little window thingy that pops up. But after I do that, the loading thingy just spins and spins and the game never appears. Anyone have an idea about what's going on?
Batman Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 I have no idea. I tried doing it myself and i got the same thing. Send something to them asking if its supposed to do that.
Unstream Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 Yeah it's hacking. I've seen this a couple times too. Once before when the new Neohome opened up, and another time on the news. Just click cancel. Whatever you do, don't enter your username or password.
Superfly Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 CORRECTION: This is not hacking. It's neopets forgetting to change the location of one of the images on the page from their protected server. I've seen it many times before and it's 100% harmless, just hit cancel and it will go away.
Bob_the_Bunny Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 Oh...so that's what that was. I've gotten it a couple of times when I first tried to play Petpet park facts and I didn't know what it was.
ChaoticFission Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 yep. besides, your username and password won't work anyways since you're not a developer or an admin. i've pulled one of these myself on a project i was working on... needless to say, sloppy :)
Queen Milli Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 I have gotten that a few time at different places it is NOT a hack. Just click okay :D
Unstream Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 GAH! The neoboards lied to me! Heh I guess that goes to show that you can't believe everything you hear on them.
Shane for Wax Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 I thought you couldn't believe ANYTHING that pops up on the neoboards? :O At any rate, the question has been answered but I will reinforce the answer: It is NOT hacking. It's just the Neopets programmers being sloppy. This topic has been edited by a member of staff (Ruto). The original topic has been answered.
