tempdisplay
Well this is what I do, I have 3 main pets which I love but adopot one more for the ray and avvvies. so is it right to do this because when I'm done with them I put them back in the pound :( I'm quite selfish in that I'm thinking if it will get me frozen and not if it hurts the pets o_O But I keep tthe pets till they're zapped to a good pet like the faerie cybunny I once got and then I give them to a wanting owner :) FREE! So I'm in the clear right :S?
Xepha
Yes it's totally alright to do that. You give the chance to other people to get nice colored pets :)
purple angel
Wow! You're such a nice person! My friend once adopt a lenny to get the spooky lenny avatar, it's better this way cause you don't have to create a new pet and pound it. Like that, there would be lesser pet in the pound! naalaro
Theres a whole group of people doing this as i recall, and it is one of the arguments pur forth by the proponents of the lab ray.
rdreader
You're doing a good thing. So, don't worry, it's okay.
petalene
There are lots of people and guilds who adopt basic colored pets, zap untill painted and then repound or put up for adoption. I belong to one that specifically adopts poorly named pets. Its fun to find a new home for pets that were abandoned. And I get to dress up and play with a variety of pets (while they are with me) with out creating and abandoning pets. If you are intrested in joining a guild that does this, you can surch for "adoption" on the guild page or Neomail at princesjenifer if you are intrested in the guild I am in One Weekers Adoptions. Happy Zapping!
jessy
Don't worry, I do the same thing. I adopt a pet from the pound that nobody wanted and I make him pretty, then I send him back to the pound for adoption :)
belltower
I too am a benevolent lab zapper. My main pet was a lab rat until she turned into a Lutari. Now I don't want to zap her anymore and risk a species change, so I adopt pets and zap them. I have a snow uni I may start on a trade route for people who want the snow days avatar once she's 100 days old. TNT would only frown on it if you were charging NPs or other items of value for the pets.
Adris Undead
nope!! you're absolutely fine at doing this, I'd like to do it but I love my pets so much to put them on the pound, but maybe later I'll buy another lab ray map and do this in another account :D
jessy
belltower: I don't want to zap my main pet either. I like him as a pink grundo. I don't want him to change from being a grundo.

I wouldn't mind a temporary change, but you can only get Lutari from the lab ray. Likewise, a pink paint brush is 2.5 million or so, another 160k for a grundo potion; that would take a lot of zapping to compensate for. I adopted a grundo this morning, zapped her to Starry, and released her; I see she's already been adopted.
jessy
belltower: That's good. I made my maint pet a grundo and he got zapped pink as his first colour change if I remember correctly. I didn't know Lutari's were only zapped pets. Now, what I would love is a pretty pink draik. Unfortunately, the pink morphing potions are at prices like 8-9 million. :(
Unstream
Lutaris aren't lab ray only pets. You can get them if you sign up for Neopets Mobile.
belltower
Lutaris aren't lab ray only pets. You can get them if you sign up for Neopets Mobile. Right. I meant the only way you could change an existing pet to Lutari is via luck with the lab ray, as there are no Lutari morphing/transmogrifying potions.
