  1. Finally! After 3 solid hours of screaming at the computer screen, I finally got the hang of the stupid game enough to get 1010 points before I died.

At least I am completely up to date on the plot so far, including the NC challenge.

Can't wait for the next step.

One thing, how much longer do we have to go on this? If we have done up till this point, we should have all the 'prizes' we can have (4), so what do we get later, and how much? I guess that is what we will find out...

  2. Oh, I do hope that is the case. It would suck if they give us crappy prizes. So far I have only been in 4 plots, finishing three (I wasn't able to get past THAT step in the Dr Sloth plot), and I hope to finish this one as well.

Maybe they'll do something like for the Altador Plot, and have a place where you can get a different prize every day. That would be cool. And here's hoping they do 'release' Lutari Isle, since the main character IS a Lutari after all.

  3. First time got both Abigail and Lulu. But I guess that's pretty easy to do. I'll admit, getting AAA will be a lot harder, since I suck at Faerie Bubbles to begin with.

However, I shall persevere! I did get up to half of AAA's score last time. All I need to do then is double it. And how the hell did people get in the 9000's? Good on 'em I say, but still...

Unfortunately, in playing any game, my attention span is pretty short so...ooh! Butterfly!

  4. Technically this is going to be a Pet Spotlight entry, but I am just testing out the waters so to speak. This is all about my second pet, Falkyrie.

    Ghostly Findings - Part 1

"I'm bored. Let's do something fun."

As soon as my big sister said that I knew I was in for trouble. We were sitting around the kitchen table (well, Azi and Jahl were sitting, Magi was swimming in her little pool). Oh, you don't know? My big sister is a Yurble, a Cloud Yurble. Our Master looks upon my big sister with a kind of gracious, and loving benevolence. Why, just last week, my big sister came down with Chickaroo. Our Master spent the better part of 3 hours raising the funds to buy the cure. Master never did that for me. I had to trek all the way to the Healing Springs in order to ask the Water Faerie for a healing job. And even then it was a 'Whole Family Deal'.

Anyway, everything good always happens to Azerael, my big sis. Naturally. Azi was the one who got Faerie Quests, and Coltizan's Prizes, and the coolest Petpet. A Snicklebeast. A Cloud Snicklebeast. Like everything else, I always come second best. I'm only lvl 4, as opposed to Azi's 15, and most often than not I'm the one who misses out with training, as our Master focuses more time and energy to training Azi.

The Master also makes a lot of allowances for my younger brother, Jahlendra. He is a Lutari, and the Master wanted one so badly that the Master stayed up until midnight in order adopt the first new-borns of the year on Lutari Day. Because of this, the Master overlooks the fact that he loves to dress up in Azi's left-over clothes, and to tell the truth, is rather proud of the fact that he's a 'bit of a fruit'. Even the youngest of us, my younger sister Mangenai, a Koi, is looked on with the kind of love that only comes to the youngest of a family. And she's smart. Smarter even than Azi. The Master spends hours combing through all the bookstores in Neopia to try and find books Magi hasn't read yet.

But this isn't about my siblings, this is about me. For crying out loud, I used to be a Shoryu! Then my Master spoke up one day during breakfast (it was just me and Azi at this point, Jahl and Magi hadn't been born yet), in the sort of voice one uses when one has an epiphany, and said, "Shoryu are apparently the most popular pet in Neopia." At this, I was chuffed. Finally! I had one up on my big sis. I was more popular than she! Then my world shattered as my Master continued, "How utterly mundane. And I'm getting sick of red. So I think a change is in order." My Master then grinned brightly as the thought sank in, and I knew from past experience that now nothing would stop the Master from carrying out the idea.

But me? I was terrified. Which method would the Master use to change me? A few days later, the Master began to buy Secret Laboratory Maps. My blood ran cold. Would I join the sad ranks of being just another Labrat? Just a poor Pet who was at the mercy of the depraved whims of the Lab Ray? I could just imagine my Master leading me to the Lab, like some sacrificial lamb, pulling the lever and laughing maniacally, as my body changed and morphed.

My Master must have seen my fear, for that night, Master came into my bedroom, and in an uncharacteristic display of affection, tucked me in and said, while kissing me on my forehead, "Don't worry, Falkyrie. You won't be my Labrat. I'm not getting these Lab Maps for you."

I was relieved, but the question remained, how would I change? Would I still change? I asked my Master this question, and my Master replied, "Hmph, you are not getting out of it that easy. I said you were not going to be Zapped. I never said you were going to stay the same. I have something else in store for you." Then my Master grinned at me and left me to my troubled dreams.

All through the night, I tossed and turned, unable to sleep, a million things fluttering around in my mind like so many Faerie Babaas. At long last, near dawn, I must have fallen asleep, for when I eventually woke, it was noon, and the house was empty. I walked into the kitchen to find this note, 'Falk, Azi and I have gone to get some things. We till be back by dinnertime. Do your chores and be good till we return.'

So I fluttered about our home in Mystery Island, bemoaning the fact that it was quite likely soon I would no longer have wings to fly with. I did my chores and waited, until at last, just as the last of the sun's rays crept over the mountain near our home, the Master and Azi returned. As I looked out the window at the pair, I saw Azi and the Master laughing about something, and once again, I felt left out. But as soon as the Master came in through the door, I forced myself to put a smile on my face. No reason to show the Master how I really felt. After all, things could be a lot worse. The Master might have decided to send me to the pound and got a new Pet to replace me. Then the Master grinned at me again, and I felt my spirits lift, as they always did when the Master was near me.

The Master was carrying a bag, which looked pretty full and heavy. I wondered what was in it, when I saw it move. The Master raised one eyebrow, then looked in the bag and said, "No, not yet. I still have some things to do first before I can let you out."

Then the Master reached in and pulled out a...Morphing Potion. This was how the Master wanted to change me? I was terrified, and yet strangely excited at the same time. The Master then sat down on a chair at the kitchen table and placed the Morphing Potion on the table, after unstopping the cork. Thin wisps of red smoke trailed out of the open neck. Then the Master looked at me and said, "Ultimately this is your choice. The Paintbrush I got for you works for both a Shoryu and what you would tun into if you took the Morphing Potion. While I would like to see you in your new form, if you feel you don't want to change, I shan't push the issue."

I was stunned. The Master was letting me choose whether to change or not? I looked at the Potion. This innocuous thing was my Lord Darigan, my Dr Sloth. I glanced at Azi who was silent and looking intently at me. She noticed my gaze and said quietly, "It's your choice. I cannot make this decision for you."

I clenched my fist, and, after having a furious debate within myself, I decided what I wanted to do. With my eyes closed I reached blindly forward and grabbed the bottle, and before I could chicken out, I put the Potion to my lips and drank.

The pain was incredible. I felt as though fire was coursing through my veins as I collapsed upon the floor, twisting and writhing in agony. I could hear my very bones crack and warp as they succumbed to the Potion's magic and morphed. My wings fell off, and I would have felt quite despondent, if I had not started screaming since my skin was stretching and warping and crackling and...

But even though I was in agony, I realized my head was cradled in the Master's lap, and the Master was stroking my head, and singing the lullaby the Master sang to me when I was first born. I felt the peace I had felt then, that I was accepted, and loved, and in those quiet moments, just before I passed out, I heard the Master say to me the words spoken at my birth, "Welcome to our family, Little One."

A/N: Shew! First part finished. What did Falk turn into? Well, technically if you click on my Neopets Username, you'll see, but where would the fun be in that? <grin>

Still, I began to write this when I began wondering what the various Morphing Potions (and by extension the Transmogrification Potions) would do to a Pet. Because technically you are re-writing the genetic code of the Pet. And yes, Mangeni, being a Koi, used a Morphing Potion to become a Koi.

    Well, till next time...

  5. As soon as I get up, I go online. My homepage is actually Neopets <grins>. Then I open up a new tab and check out TDN to see if there anything important cropped in the 6-8 hours I was asleep. Then I start on my daily routine.

Do the normal Dailies (Omelettes, Jellies, Bank, Shop, Altador and Petpetpark Prizes, etc...)

If my pets are hungry, feed 'em free food (always helpful)

    Play WoK and the WoS

Tombola, Quaslan Expellibox, Fruit Machine, Fishing, the Meteor, Lunar Puzzle, and the Shrine.

Then I do the Crossword and Daily Puzzles.

    Troll through the TDN boards

Then I do my 7 favourite games (which I know I can get 1000 np a time from them)

    Save my money

And gaze longingly at the impossibly priced Paintbrushes that I need to get my 'perfect' pets (Pink Pet and Petpet paintbrush, Spotted Pet paintbrush, and Maraquan and Blue Petpet paintbrushes).

Then I work on my Pet Spotlight entry

    And my Beauty Contest Entry

Then I check to see if I can do other contests

And try to see if there are any Avvies I can get

In all, I have a very full day. And this is all around doing the housework, going to college, and making my meals.

Well, now I have to go...the Meepits are coming for me...

  6. I already have two of my dream pets (a Cloud Yurble called Azerael, and Ghost Ogrin called Falkyrie), but the two I want now are a Pink Lutari (already have him, just need the paintbrush), and a Spotted Koi (again, have the Koi just need the Paint brush).

I also have two of my dream Petpets, a Cloud Snicklebeast (called Piffle) for my Yurble and a Ghost Carmiriller (called Sunshine) for my Ogrin, so all I need is a Pink Petpet Paintbrush for my Delfin (who belongs to the Lutari, and is called Springfield) and either a Maraquan Petpet Paintbrush for the Quetzal (already got), or a Blue Petpet Paintbrush for the Ghoti for my Koi (since she shrieks whenever she doesn't get a water-based Petpet).

In all I am looking at over 3 mil in order to get everything. Groan. And since I drained my savings account to get the Koi and the Petpets, I need to claw my way back up again.

Ah well, anything for my beloved Pets. :laughingsmiley:

  7. I ain't even gonna open mine. I don't particularly want a balloon, and the bag itself is too pretty to just open, so it shall go in my safety deposit box (later my gallery), along with both the NC Mall birthday capsules (and the summer capsule since it's sooo pretty with the boat and everything).

  8. I highly doubt Shenkuu will actually win the cup, I think (and am hoping) it's Krawk, and I would have gone Krawk, except I love Shenkuu too much (Lutari goodness!). And I am also hoping Lost Desert will also be in the finals so we can whoop yer to 4th <snerk>.

And seeing as how Shenkuu has already gone up against the 4 main powerhouses so far, we have fought you and lost so now we know what to do to win next time.

But yes, I think Krawk Island will take 1st, then comes either Lost Desert or Shenkuu for 2nd or 3rd (I am biased to Shenkuu but hey, I'm easy, as long as we get a trophy I'm happy), and Kreludor for 4th.

  9. I highly doubt I'll be able to do more than level 1. If I was being ambitious, I'd go for level 9. But just getting a Green Gem Wooden Shield is enough for me. And the avatar. And hopefully in the top four spots in the finals = trophy. Grin.

And because I suck at YYB, it all has to come from the other games. Sigh. But still I shall plug away at it, and hopefully reach my goal by the end of the tourney.

  10. Nevaaarr!!!! Shenkuu will win this time!

Of course, it still is early days. Ten to one we'll have more matches against each other, but if Shenkuu and Lost Desert are vying for spots in the finals again, like last year, we will win this time. I doubt we will take 1st place, even though I am hoping, but just as long as we do not repeat last year, I will be happy.

  11. Definitely trying for the Avatar. Of course, since I suck at YYB, I have to make that up with SS, SSD and MSN. Dear god. My fingers are about to fall off from my arms and my upper arm muscles are burning from pounding the keys like a raving lunatic to get my MSN scores. Thank god SSD and SS are easier.

Still, I shall persevere. Hopefully by the end of the Cup I'll have the necessary stats. And I shall help my team (Shenkuu for the Cup!) win.

  12. I am rooting for Shenkuu this year. It was a close call between Skenkuu and Lost Desert, but Shenkuu (with the only Lutari (loves!) player) won this time. (Sorry william Stout is cool, you made some good arguements, and I almost went Lost Desert, but Pink Lutari goodness won out.)

So anyway, I'm going Shenkuu this year. However, when I voted for Roo Island last year, I found I SUCKED at Yooyuball, while on the other hand, I did pretty good at Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise.

Even though I probably won't be playing much (if any) Yooyouball, I will still be cheering and playing for Shenkuu with the other games.

Here's hoping Shenkuu for the win!

  13. My god, my god, my god! I'm still shaking from excitement! I was randomly clicking around and I happened to click on Create A Neopet...and I saw that Lutari's were available for creation!

I was sooo happy, since I've wanted a Lutari for AGES!!!

So I very quickly filled out the forms and I GOT A LUTARI!!! A red one, since I didn't bother changing the 'default' colour. I am really chuffed now.

Now I am going to go around and play with my new Lutari.

Lutari lovers REJOICE!! Another fortunate being has joined your hallowed halls of worship and adoration.

Now...where to get a Pink Paint Brush...

  14. I found both of mine (the egg face splat and the bench) in the first click (face spat was in the Spooky Food and the bench was in the Space Weaponry). And I really hope Neopets fixes yesterday's problem. It would be unfair if we were penalized because we couldn't get the prize due to a glitch on their end.

  15. Hnnnn...if I had not missed the start (our internet was down for a week, which just so coincided with the first few days of Daily Dare...darn it!), Id've gotten an Uberiffic trophy. As it stands, I'll be getting a Spiftastic trophy. Ah well, at least it is a trophy.

Anyway, I'm dead even on AAA to Abigail wins. Snerk. I'm horrible at most games. Well, this is the longest I've actually paid attention to my Neopets account.

    I can't wait to see what's next.

  16. Ahhhhhh! My god! I accidentally pressed AAA's challenge for the Usul Suspects, since I'd never gone beyond 300 before, I was intending to do Abigail. When I realized I had to beat AAA if I wanted to continue, I decided, 'What the heck, I'll do it!'. So I just kept my finger on the space button, which kept me firing the gun continuously, then just picked a spot and tried to stick to it. I found I was hitting the hats quite often (which makes them crash), and if any ever got through, all I had to do was toss the milk bottles back. However, even with the extra life cheat, I was averaging 400 or so.

Then I decided to adopt the view i have for Meerca Chase, where I do not look at the score until I die. So I did. And on this last one, I was so busy not looking at the score, and trying to make sure the Baby Suspects didn't get me, and feeding the Suspects behind me, when I did die the last time, I had 501 points!

    Soooo happy.
