I know there are a couple of avatars where it WON'T tell you that you got the avatar when you won it (I think the Wheel of Misfortune is one of them, from memory), but I've not heard of this happening.  Do you have your avatar checklist here on TDN?  Assuming you've been keeping it up to date, you could always check the total it says you have on here, then do the one-click importer and see if the count goes up by one.  Why you can't see it though, that's the real mystery.

 

Yep, I use the avatar checklist here, and update it with each newly acquired avatar. I'll try that out! Although my "obtained" total and the total on my profile page match. Won't hurt to try, though :)

The only reason I spin the Wheel of Monotony is to get the avatar, which you can get by landing on the "?" spot. To my surprise and excitement, I landed on that spot today, and it said I got the avatar! But then, I checked my avatar count and Neoboard preferences, only to find it wasn't there! Has this happened anyone else??

I feel like it taught me about saving and goal-setting in a way! As in there were a bunch of expensive items I wanted when I was a kid, and since I was kind of a nerd I made up plans for how I was going to make a certain amount of NP each day until I reached my goal, so I could predict how long it would take me to get it. It also helped me not to be so impulsive in buying other things ;)

I went for years without even wasting my time on the two kings because I hate the drop downs too! I finally saw someone on here talking about the jester avvie, and I decided to start trying it again. I don't always get something, but I usually get a few NP and maybe a prize worth a couple hundred NP. Yesterday I got a 10x booster (WHAT?!) and got 830 NP. So, it's worth it sometimes. I do the jester joke, and always tab through the drop downs. Also, you can press the back button after submit for the grumpy king, and then submit the same joke without having to re-enter it! :)

 

I can't believe I never thought of just pressing the back button haha xD I will definitely be doing that from now on... I still hate the drop-downs but at least it will save me some time!

I'm with the others... I was definitely one of the lurkers before. I started becoming more active relatively recently. I agree that Neopets becomes better with age! I think especially because there were things I didn't really pay attention to when I was a kid, like the stock market, which I'm way more into now. Also, before I thought I was super rich when I had like 20,000np... those days were awesome!

Hi! I've been on Neopets for quite a long time too, since I was a kid xP I must have had a different account way back when I first started than the one I have now... but the memory of it has been completely lost ;P Oh well. Same as you, I play on and off. Mostly I am not on Neopets all that much haha, but occasionally I become more motivated about training my pet, getting avatars, etc., and come back on for a while.

 

By the way I love your pets! I've always liked the colors of the Faerie Pteri.

I usually just throw pretty much everything into my SDB. Now I've been trying to get the rubbish dump avatar and discarded a lot of, hopefully rubbish-y, stuff. Btw, does anyone know what the "over extended period of time" for that avatar is?

 

I hoard tons of stuff as well! Mostly food... I've definitely got enough in there to feed all my pets for quite a long time.

 

I've been wanting to get the Rubbish avatar as well. I'm not sure about the "extended period of time," but I've read a few guides on getting the avatar and they usually suggest having a ton of junk items (like 1,000+) in your SDB before attempting to get the avatar. Then you withdraw all the items, and use Quick Stock to discard 70 at a time. So basically you would be discarding all of those items in one sitting, rather than over a long period. I have yet to try it since I'm still trying to get at least 1,000 rubbish items, but hopefully it works!

You can just click the first drop down arrow and then spam tab and the down arrow key to select them really fast :3

It wasn't today, but a couple days ago I finally got the Chocolate Usul that I always wanted! I had been using a Faerie Quest Fortune Cookie (I never buy NC items but I had some NC that I'd gotten for free) to increase my battle pet's stats, got a quest from the grey faerie, and since her rewards are random I received a reward from the rainbow faerie. I could not believe it :) Now I just have to figure out what background goes best...

When I first started playing Neopets, my dream was always to have the Faerie Xweetok! I finally have that now, so I'm pretty satisfied. I completed the Secret Lab Map over the summer so I've been zapping my Usul in hopes that she would become the chocolate color. Instead, she turned into a male, which made me sad because I was much happier having an even number of males and females, two and two, and now it's uneven T^T But hopefully if I keep zapping her she will turn back. But anyway, that is my current dream is to have a chocolate Usul!

I'm pretty new to Neopets, what item should I wish for just to turn a profit? I'm not too interested in any specific items/collections really, I'd rather have an item to sell to get Neopoints for something later when I finally decide on what I want. Any suggestions?

Like someone else said, it's a good idea to check out what other people have been granted in the list at the bottom of the Wishing Well page. I personally have been wishing for Snorkle Snout because you can get an avatar from it and it is expensive to just buy. If you aren't collecting avatars and just want profit, items like Snorkle Snout and Bag of Peanuts are very profitable because people will buy them for a lot of money. A lot of people also wish for the Neopets 15th Birthday Goodie Bag, and I think you can make about 700k off of it. Also, any rare stamps are good. But just make sure to wish for things that are r89 or below, and to donate at least 21np, to have a chance at getting your wish. Good luck!!

 

wishing is part of my dailies and I've had NUMEROUS wishes granted, I seriously lost count but yes, 21 NP is the minimum and it's the only amount I donate, any more and it's a waste really

Wow! Even though you haven't won recently, that is really impressive that you've gotten your wish so many times!! I will be sure to keep wishing and hope to be as lucky as you one day haha. Do you do 7 wishes twice a day? Or just one set within every 24 hours?

Especially when I was a kid, I always had certain ideas in my mind of what all the foods would taste like if they were real, so I was curious to find out if anyone else ever had similar thoughts! I love seeing what people post here. There are just so many foods on Neopets, so it is interesting to see what people come up with.

 

I always pictured Neggs having kind of a chewy/slightly rubbery skin for some reason haha, I guess because I thought they kind of resembled balloons in some ways. Perhaps they would be squishy, who knows! :)

 

 

Because of the name, I kind of imagined that a negg would taste like an egg :P

I think most of the food in my gallery came from the thought "neopets food I wish were real".

 

Unlike some of you, I'm not much of a fruit fan, but I LOVE LOVE LOVE vegetables. And I think these organic korbat pumpkins look delightful.

I'm not even the biggest fan of chocolate, but this Milk Chocolate JubJub Cake looks delicious.

I picked this one just because I always think that I actually could decorate biscuits neopets style, I'm just waiting for the appropriate Random Contest.

Eh, I'm not sure I'd want there to be a Squishy Brain Wrap in real life. And Sand Grapes or Pickled Eel? PASS!

 

Some of the Faerie Foods would be delightful. Like Illusen's Veggie Burger or Fyora Day Cupcakes. Maybe even the different faerie mushrooms. It would be interesting to see how the "elements" taste, you know? Like does the Air Faerie Mushroom taste like air? Is the Fire Faerie Mushroom spicy? Does the Water Faerie Mushroom taste like water or made of liquid (like a gel cap to give it shape)? What does Dark, Light and Earth taste like? It would be awful if the Earth one tasted like dirt though.

 

To join in on the "ALL THE FRUITS" parade... I've actually thought that the Tchea Fruit has always looked scrumptious.

 

Yesss there are so many Faerie foods that look delicious, especially the desserts/pastries. I have always wondered that too! It would be so interesting to know what all of those would taste like!

 

Agreed, the Tchea fruit seems like it would be tasty. According to the description they are supposed to taste like blueberries and bananas, a combo that I personally like, so it would be cool for them to be mixed in one fruit haha.

 

I saw cake coffee the other day and wanted it so bad. It would be interesting to see what the berries taste like. I probably couldn't bring myself to eat any of the foods made with the meat of a neopet, like mynci brain sandwhich. So sad! And gross.

I always wondered what neggs would taste like! Especially since there are so many different kinds, like maybe they would all taste different.

 

Some of the slushies sound like they might be tasty. Like the Coco Whip Slushie, Rainborific Slushie, Holiday Slushie, Berry Cola Slushie, Chocolate Chip Cookie Slushie, and Tangy Tropic Slushie. I wonder what the Space Slushie and Pepperminto Slushie taste like? Some of the Chia Pops might be tasty as well.

 

Like it has been said the fruit sounds good and so does the Neggs. I really want to try Heavenly Roast Turkey, it's suppose to taste divine.

Definitely! I bet some of them could be made in real life, like the Choco Whip and the Chocolate Chip Cookie, etc. Yeah I think the Banana Split Chia Pop would be really good. Some of them sound really gross though, like the onion one xD

This is kind of a weird question but: if you could choose one or more of the made-up food items on Neopets to be made real, which one(s) would you choose and why? I just thought this would be an interesting topic because there are sooo many foods on Neopets, some that are really bizarre and some that seem like they would be delicious. It must be a fun job to be on the Neopets team and design all the foods!

 

I, personally, would want some of the interesting fruits to be real. There are tons of fruits and berries on Neopets, like the Super Juicy Berry and Tangella (both of which sound quite tasty to me). I would also want some of the spooky and gross foods to be real, because I would want to try them just for fun.

 

So how about you guys? Are there any that come to mind?

My situation is somewhat similar to yours. My parents are still together, but they are almost complete opposites like yours. My temperament is a lot more similar to my dad's - we don't get angry or offended very easily, we're both easy-going, etc. My mom is a lot more hot-tempered and gets stressed out really easily. I always got a long pretty well with my mom for the most part. I would say I was always just as close with both parents. My mom, having a worse temper than my dad, would always get mad at me more often than him when I was a kid though. But it was probably in middle school and high school was when we argued the most, but never on a severe level. I find that as I grew older, what changed was that I would get more annoyed with her you could say, or maybe more just tired of her nagging all the time. I think I partly just wanted to be more independent though, which is why I moved away for college. Even just being back for a few months in the summer felt too long for me because it has become a bit harder for me to stay at home and I start to miss living on my own and not having to deal with everyone else.

 

Nonetheless, even though we don't agree on everything, I never forget to be grateful for my mom... both my parents really... for providing me with opportunities and supporting me all my life, and raising me with so much love and care.

I've never won anything from it :( Though I don't donate to the wishing well very often. I'm going to follow some of the advice on this thread and donate regularly to see if I get lucky!

I've only been wishing almost every day for the past two weeks and haven't gotten anything yet, but I think it's definitely worth a shot to try! I'll definitely keep wishing! A lot of people here gave some great advice and it seems like lots of people have gotten their wishes granted :)

Marketing is what I wanted to major in! I took one glance at the amount of group work though and noped right out, group work is not exactly my favorite thing in the world. I did do it as a core unit though and it was my favorite, the influence marketing has in our every day life and just the ins and outs of how it works is fascinating to me. I'm an accounting major hoping to go into cost accounting, though hopefully I can weasel my way into a more marketing-orientated career eventually.

 

I'd love to learn Spanish but it's hard to find the time between studies. Chinese and Japanese not so much, I did Japanese throughout high school and I've never studied Mandarin Chinese but I imagine it's incredibly difficult. All I have to say about studying all three at once is "wow". :whaa:

Haha yeah, I started watching Naruto a while ago and I am really struggling to keep watching it, I feel like I haven't even made a dent. I love Death Note as well!

 

Yeah I'm not a huge fan of group work either, I've had both good and bad groups... it can indeed be frustrating. I'm a sophomore this year and haven't really gotten too deep yet in all the marketing core work; I've mostly just done a few of the basic requirement/prerequisite classes, but I am hoping I end up liking the major. Yeah that would be great if you eventually get into a marketing career, especially since it seems like something that interests you!

 

I love studying Spanish; of the three I have studied it the longest. I hope you get to learn it one day, it can be time-intensive for sure but if you ever get the time, I am sure you would like it :) Chinese is probably the hardest for me, especially because of pronunciation, since it's a tonal language. I really love writing it, learning new characters and such, but I just love studying it in general.
