  1. What is YOUR favorite Neopets Theme?

I just use the Neopets Yellow default, but I do love the Puzzle Adventure and Altadorian Constellations themes.

    Neopet?

    Kyrii, without a doubt.

    PetPet?

Rock. Can’t go wrong with Rock.

    Paint Brush Color?

Maraquan, though I am fond of Elderly pets as well.

    Neopets Daily?

Tending to the ol' stock farm.

  2. I can't send my score in that either, it just comes up with some soundtrack thing and doesn't go through. I've tried Mozilla, Safari, IE and Chrome, tried reinstalling shockwave, resetting, clearing cache and cookies - nothing. I've just accepted there will be no slorg avatar in my near future for now. :( I'd say give all of those things a go though, one may work for your issue.

  3.

Cool! My favorite anime right now is Gintama. I haven't finished it though, and even though I love anime I probably only watch a few episodes a week since I just don't have much time these days. I think it has like over 200 episodes so it's going to take me a while to finish it haha. My major is marketing, but I am also studying Spanish, Japanese and Mandarin Chinese; I hope to go into international business as a career in the future. How about you?

Haha good luck with that, I can't commit to most of the 'over 9000'-type episode anime, stuff like Death Note is where it's at.

Marketing is what I wanted to major in! I took one glance at the amount of group work though and noped right out, group work is not exactly my favorite thing in the world. I did do it as a core unit though and it was my favorite, the influence marketing has in our every day life and just the ins and outs of how it works is fascinating to me. I'm an accounting major hoping to go into cost accounting, though hopefully I can weasel my way into a more marketing-orientated career eventually.

I'd love to learn Spanish but it's hard to find the time between studies. Chinese and Japanese not so much, I did Japanese throughout high school and I've never studied Mandarin Chinese but I imagine it's incredibly difficult. All I have to say about studying all three at once is "wow". :whaa:

  4. Congratulations for both, but especially congratulations for Volcano Run and all of the congratulations for having only 2 game avatars left! Volcano Run is my next game avatar goal after attempting Escape from Meridell Castle now that the boards have reset. Snow Roller is going at the end of my list. I've attempted all of the avatar games just to get an idea of what will be most difficult and I have determined the Snow Roller will without a doubt be my white whale. :(

  5. I have no idea what a cutie mark is other than something MLP related, but I took a quiz that said mine is a moon. Moons are cool I guess, just chilling in space being all round, controlling tides and shinin'. Moon it is!

  6. I did it for a couple of months while visiting it about a once an hour 6-8 times daily and just recently recieved the avatar. Aside from that, nothing. It's quick to do though so I'll still be giving it a shot every now and then.

  7. Welcome! Having just read your profile I suspect you are me. I also love medieval fantasy novels, dog psychology and training, gaming, Pokemon and V for Vendetta and I to still have my first-edition Venusaur, Blastoise, and Charizard holos. I feel too old for Neopets at 22 as well, but most of us here are in our 20's and up so it's nice to have a newcomer to our little retirement village. :laughingsmiley:

  8. I've just got 2 pets I've named on my current account:

Illuminacium: I am fond of the word 'illuminate' so I just attempted variations of that until I landed on Illuminacium.

Maeruko: I just jumbled letters around until I landed on something that resembles a name.

On my past accounts I had Pookie with a mess of numbers after it (named after mum's dog), Kyriia with another mess of numbers because Kyrii, and some other pet named something to do with a mechanical turkey because I was into Dragon Age and Adventure Quest at the time and there was a mechanical turkey involved in those games.

I'm not a good chooser of names. :sad02:

  9. It's fine to not socialize outside of work, I don't enjoy holiday parties and forced mingling either. Holiday parties can be good for networking if you're in a field where you'd benefit from gaining contacts, but I'm assuming this isn't one of those jobs. That said, you should attend a couple of parties just to get to know people, hopefully you'll find others that are into videogames! ^_^ I love reading but I wouldn't be too into joining a book club either, I just want to read what I want, when I want. I'm sure you'll find someone with common hobbies there and if not, well, a job is a job. Everyone is just there to earn some cash, getting along with co-workers is just a bonus.

  10. I'm an accounting student who'd also like to start my own business someday so I can offer some insight. I'd go with Accounting/AIS. The skills are more transferrable and the job outlook is much better (depending on your location). The skills you need to manage a successful business are better gained from experience than a degree and you've a better chance of getting the relevant experience under your belt with the accounting degree. Second, you're better off getting your CPA than a masters in accounting. Sure, you can do both, but getting your CPA will open a lot more doors for you than a masters will.

As rntracey said, there's just so much you can do in accounting. If you want your own business then the career path I'd recommend would be along the lines of doing 3 years in public accounting (audit or tax) and then get into private accounting as a cost accountant and then as a controller after a couple of years. If you can, try to get an internship with a Big 4 firm and volunteer for accounting-related programs (for example, in Australia we have the ATO Tax Help program where you help people in the low income bracket do their taxes). Big 4 internships are difficult to get and difficult to do but if you have your CPA and a Big 4 internship on your resume you'll open all of the doors.
