I went to check my battle records after the second day of fighting and noticed that all the fights I'd been doing on Day 1 had been wiped! Did this happen to anyone else?

Mine held just fine overnight. Sorry to hear about your glitch. I guess that is why the battledome is still in beta. I'd report it, not necessarily to try and reconstruct the points, but so TNT is aware of the problem or scope of the problem.

 

Good luck with day 2, and here's hoping the numbers stick this time!

But the best offense is a good defense, and mine has pulled my rear out of the fire plenty of times. LOL

 

Btw Annika~, I checked out your battle pet, impressive. :D

 

Anyway, you need strength for the sword and defense for the shield, and experience of the player combined with the pet's training. That is thebest way to be victorious imho. Oh and checking out the 1-player profiles we have in TDN's Battlepedia doesn't hurt either. ;)

I primarily 1p with my battle pet--and fighting 1p fights with lots of attack power is a great stress reliever. I think I need to diversify my weapon set if I were to get serious about 2p. Either way, nothing is more fun than taking out a foe in one offensive whack!

Strength, followed by HP to last the battle at hand. An amazing weapon is meh if a pet doesn't have a strength boost to yield it with any might.

 

I use defense as an afterthought in terms of strategy...

Pretty quiet on the the battle-chat front for this second set of 3-way skirmishes. Are you all fighting enthusiastically for this next avatar-challenge or has boredom set in from repetition of the format from the prior skirmish between 3 factions? Personally, I wish TNT would throw some twist into the mix...

So, has anyone figured out what all the boons do? I can't seem to figure out what the Black Market Goods is supposed to do. Also, has anyone set anything up to calculate how much more NP we'd get for the Bank Bribery boon?

 

Right now, I'm leaning towards the Cheaper by the Dozen boon, but I want to be sure what the rest of them do before I make my decision.

 

I don't understand why people are dithering on picking a "boon." The boons expire on Sunday if we all here have interpreted the statements on the site correctly. Just pick your boon/s now, because you only have 5 days left til the timer runs out!

Truce to expire??!! Yes!! My battle pet is about to go up another strength/defense/faerie ability tier/boost just in time for more mayhem! I hope there is a bunch more battling!

I haven't seen Faerie Quest Fortune Cookies for sale in over two weeks (and I check multiple times a day). Anyone else seen them for sale or have a sense when/if they might return?

I'm torn between filling my doing your part bar and wracking up a bunch of losses on my pet's stats...

I was, too. I am going to do some extra BD fights after the war just to try and even out her stats. :) Until then, they are battle scars...

Does anyone know the exact number of wins it takes to achieve the "Doing Your Part" this slow connection is rather frustrating, and I am only up to 5 easy wins and 156 hard wins, it looks like I am more than half way done.

 

This is as crappy of a task as has ever been done on neopets, the most monotonous task with no strategy, no skill required.

How are you getting "wins" against this surprise wave??

300 losses later... hope that was worth it!

So now that Envy and the others are unlocked so we can finish DYP and the achievements, how long do you all suppose we have to finish up? Even at just 1 minute per loss, that is 5 solid hours to rack up 300 losses...

Sigh. Woke up, no challengers. Too late. Wish I had had head's up that this was a short-lived round. Now

I am annoyed.

Neopets News: With the leaders having entered the fray over at the Mysterious Obelisk, it's likely a winner will be decided soon. Which faction will emerge victorious? And what awaits inside the obelisk? If they can even open it, that is. There are whispers amongst those who have felt the obelisk's power that only the worthy will make it that far.

 

SO. Who will be "the worthy"? Sounds also like the obelisk is not automatically going to open, either...

I sure hope there is more to this war. My hope (prediction?) is that something malevolent will be released from the obelisk and that will bring about part II or a plot. If not - this was a very boring war... the bosses had only 450 HP on mighty. While that is tough for many neopets, realize that one can train a pet well over level 750 (ie: 1500 HP for a balanced pet).

So when the news says to finish up by "tonight" before the next wave--and the news is listed under the "9th and 10th"--do they mean tonight (by end of Saturday the 9th) or tomorrow night (by end of Sunday the 10th)?

Flash games are a tough way to earn NP. Play enough of them and/or other money earning scenarios and then buy 15K of stock every day. Wait til they double or triple in price and then sell. It takes about 6mo to a year of buying different stock to start reaping real income, but where else can you slowly triple your NP with so little effort? I will cry when/if they change the stock market!

My .02 on the war and some of the reactions expressed on the forum--

 

First, I am happy for a war with lots of battling. However, I wish there were some puzzles as well. Also, the "factions" thing seems pointless so far as there is no running tally...

 

Second, I am surprised by the griping about the strength of the second wave. Level 35 is not unattainable by pet owners. It has been hinted since December (?) a war was brewing. Besides that, there is a war every year or so! Unless someone has been playing less than a year, training a pet for war during the "off season" should not be such a novel idea!

 

I go on training binges for my pet here and there over the years and it adds up! I can't wait to take on bigger and bigger waves. I remember being a newbie with a pet under level 35 and struggling through my first war. It just fueled my desire to bulk up for the next war! (And now the battledome helps with training by rewarding with codestones!)
