  1. Hey TDN management!

Usually when the site goes down, it is around 12am NST, sometime in the morning for Americans. May I know if this is routine maintenance? Or, is there something wrong?

I've experienced it quite a few times when going on TDN. (I live in Australia currently, and 12am NST is usually when I play Neo)

    Just curious.

  2. I'm going to sit back and see what happens. I'm somewhat skeptical of this.

The screenie on her user lookup looks legitimate. I wish it were a bit bigger, honestly, but the screenshot looks just like it should.

However, I checked her gallery and user shop, and there's no sign of the egg. In addition, she already has 4 pets, which means she couldn't hatch it on her account anyway. I'm not sure if she has a side account, but it's entirely possible that she sent it there to hatch it.

Under the screenie, there's a hyperlink that says About Me. If you click on it, she says she still needs a Pirate Draik. Maybe she didn't get around to updating that petpage yet.

I'm pretty sure she already sold it. The screenshot was posted like, just 5-10 minutes after she made the board? I find it kind of hard to believe that she would be so desperate for attention that she would post a fake screenshot of it as well.

  3. I think TDN's battlepedia isn't as informative as this one, so for those who are Negg Training, I want to share a small secret with all of you. A word of caution, negg training is expensive and is only cost effective if your pet is probably around Level 150+. If you're rich, though, then go ahead :P

    Defense Training

If you're planning to train your defense together with your HP and Strength, when you start having to pay about 6-7 codestones for training (which averages to around 24-27k), you might want to take a shortcut by using Armoured Neggs (henceforth called Aneggs) to train defense. A-neggs cost around 30k each.

For those who don't know, A-neggs increase defense by 1 point and gives you a defense item (item isn't really worth much).

The technique to negg train is to get your pet to the dying state. From the bloated state, this might take a week of not feeding. Don't worry, the time spent waiting will be worth it.

After getting to the dying state, you can feed your pet 1 A-negg every hour AND one second. The pet will still be in the starving state at this point, but as long as you're sure you waited one hour + 1 second, your pet will stay in the starving state after you feed it an A-negg. :) If you're not sure, just wait it out. Starving to dying takes 2 hours.

    Endurance/HP Training

From what I've heard, the same can be done with a Snegg (which increases 1-3 HP and 1-3 movement), except this time it's 1 hour and 30 minutes AND one second. I'll have to check this myself. Sneggs are the fastest way to gain HP at the moment, and worth around 245k each.

    Strength Training

For strength training, I recommend you buy as much Altador Strength Potions (ASPs) as you desire. ASPs give you 5 strength per use, and you can use as much as you want without having to worry about hunger levels. An alternative is Bubbling Fungus, but these can decrease your strength as well, so I recommend the ASP.

    Buying Neggs

If you plan to buy the neggs yourself (for A-neggs and Sneggs), I recommend having 3 Shop Wizard tabs open, searching for Cookie/Purple/Icy neggs. They're the most cost-effective from my experience, but they'll take a while. If you're rich, just spend the extra cash and buy A-neggs/Sneggs from people who sell them. You'll end up paying about 2-3k extra in premium.

Here are some of the basic neggs worth buying for tokens:

    1 Negg Token: Negg

2 Negg Tokens: Purple Negg, Icy Negg, Cookie Negg

3 Negg Tokens: Lime Swirly Negg

4 Negg Tokens: Super Icy Negg, Lemon Swirly Negg

    Armoured Neggs cost 16 tokens.

    Sneggs cost 126 tokens.

    Link to The Neggery: http://www.neopets.com/winter/neggery.phtml

    TLDR:

Defense Training: 1 Armoured Negg every 1 hour and 1 second (Gives 1 defense point) - costs about 30k each

Strength Training: As many Altador Strength Potions as needed (Gives 5 strength points) - costs about 290k each

Endurance Training: 1 Snegg every 1.5 hours and 1 second (Gives 1-3 HP and 1-3 movement) - costs about 245k each

Good luck in your training! :D

  4. So, for low end items/stores where restocking is easy, and does not generate the highest profit margins, is negotiating with the npc worth it? I restocked from the card shop because Im a lazy and I'm not a speedy player. My negotiating abilities allow me to find the lowest price, and involves 2 negotiates, and 1 final move to actually buy the item. When I say 2 negotiates, I basically haggle with the npc twice to bring the asking price down close to the lowest asking price. I dont do haggling when a valuable purple or yellow or grey card appears tho.

    Whats your opinion?

In my opinion, if you can haggle twice and you can still get the item, then that item is not worth restocking. :laughingsmiley:

On a more serious note, if you can haggle it down and still get the item, why not? It's just that for me, if your profit margin for something is low, you should only do it if you find it fun.

I myself don't bother with restocking because 1. I'm not good at it 2. It's not fun for me. What I do to get easy money is snipe shop wiz stuff and TP stuff and it can get me WAY more money than I'd do restocking. :) And I have fun doing it as well.

  5. Does anyone have any suggestions for high score trophies? I'm sort of new to neopets, and I only have a few trophies, as you can see on my lookup. Also, I have this question, how come when I take a picture of my habitarium for my user lookup, it keeps saying "Saving...." but it takes ages? Any ideas?

P.S. Any sites with good premade user lookups?

You can see other easy to get trophies here: http://www.thedailyneopets.com/articles/easy-trophies/ It's best to try to get other trophies during reset day (1st day of the month). Some of these include doing 2 Jhudora/Illusen Quests on reset day REALLY fast. Make sure you have SW open and ready in another tab.

Some things to note: You can do 1 quest for 1 of them every 12 hours, so try to pick a good NST time like 1am and 1pm NST. It's better to do it earlier because in case of a tie in score, the one who scored earlier is ranked higher.

For your habitarium problem, if it takes too long, just refresh. It's better than having to wait forever.

For premade user lookups, I believe our very own Izzy has a lot of nice ones. You can find them here: http://www.neopets.com/~iz9piper

  6. For a start, your pet should definitely have a level over 50. This unlocks the "berserk" attack that you can use on your opponent--the damage they take is MUCH better. The downside is, it also lowers your defense when you do that, so I only use berserk attack when I have just frozen the opponent. But it's a good thing to have.

Your stats depend on whom you want to beat. However, I will let you know this--the amount of strength or defense you have matters a lot, but only in large increments. If you have 125 strength, it won't make a difference between that and 130--the next "boost" is at 200, I think. Each "boost" you get changes your multiplier. So if you have 125 strength, you will do a certain amount of damage, and if you upgrade to 200, you'll do more damage. Same with defense--you'll block more at the next multiplier.

What Karina says is correct. You can read more about boosts in this website: http://battlepedia.thedailyneopets.com/index.php/articles/viewarticle/battle-strength-defense-boosts/

Also, something to note about berserk attack is that when you use it, you also take 50% more damage. ;)

  7. I seem to be having a similar problem, but not exactly.

Whenever I put a nester in a nest, sometimes it doesn't "nest". If I refresh my habitarium, the nesters are walking about. It's so annoying. :(

  8. Hi, I'm wall

I just started neo about a month ago so I'm still trying out everything there is. I've been concentrating on habi until I reach 50 and training my pet. I'm going to start concentrating on getting my av and trophy count up and I heard this is a good place to help on both. I don't know too much about the game yet but I'm always willing to help out however I can.

    Hey Wall! :)

Welcome to TDN! Habi level 50, you should reach that in around 2 weeks. Then you'll be getting a lot of NPs a day :D I recommend looking at guides through google, though a strategy that was worked out for me is to keep nesting and discarding eggs since they give you +200 exp for every egg discarded. :)

And, yeah. TDN can definitely help you out with your av and trophy count. For the avatars, go to the Avvie checklist section of TDN, and for trophies you can go to this page: http://www.thedailyneopets.com/articles/easy-trophies/

    Again, welcome to TDN! :D

  9. Hi

I'm Jeremy, not much of an active player. I thought I would join the forums to learn from others and to maybe ask for advice later on. I like to run habi whenever I can, play 2 player kq games, and restock easy stuff. My store & restocking skills are not too great, but it suffice for my needs. Anyways, Im quite lazy now, just having my p3 earn np for me :P . Some of my hobbies include learning about different ways of doing things, and more importantly, finding better ways of doing things/achieving goals. So, for example, I would do research on multiple methods of reducing lag, or tweaking computers. I would love to learn programming too, but I dont know where to start.

Anyways, thats pretty much sums up myself

    Jeremy

Hey Jeremy! Welcome to the TDN forums :D

I'm sure you'll find it comfortable talking to everyone else here. People are so friendly and willing to help out ^^ It's nice to see a restocker. I'm not one myself, as I'm too slow, but maybe I can learn a few tricks from you :D

Don't forget to make use of TDN's dailies page, ALP, and especially the checklist. It'll save you tons of time...if you care about collecting avvies anyway. :P

    Ciao!

  10. I Don't really have a good BD set, I'm working on it. I have a Hanso Charisma Charm and a snowglobe staff. Otherwise it's just other random stuff I have. I'm working on it, But I'm not good at saving my Np :*

That's no problem at all :) The good thing about BD weapons is that they rarely have a dramatic change in price. The only case this happens is when a new weapon comes out and does about the same number of icons as an existing weapon. If the new one is cheaper, the existing, similar weapon somewhat follows the price of the new one.

This happened with the Gsword, which inflated to around 90m when it retired, but upon the release of SoWL, has gone back to around the 55m range.

A word of advice, however. The time to buy weapons is now. While there is no plot or anything to encourage BD at the moment, the prices of weapons are at its lowest, and that includes training. A lot of people are actually investing on BD now, because should a plot come around that involved the BD, you can bet anything prices are gonna soar.

  11. Hey Zara, welcome to the forums! :D You can just call me Pow :P

Glad to see another who believes that TDN simply has the best dailies page! Haha! I even have it "saved" instead of bookmarked now because I get super lost when TDN is down and I can't access my dailies :(

I took a long break, too, but now I could say I'm more active than before.

Anyway, don't forget to get your monthly freebies, and I wish you good luck in getting your UC dreamies! :D
