  1. Dang, I hit 'no' when I meant yes.

Anyway, it's free, and it takes one second. I only fish with one of my pets. I know I should fish with all of them to increase their levels, so I have a better chance of winning cool stuff, but I never remember. I've gotten a few bags of broken NP, plus the avie. I think I won something worth about 5k, but I don't remember what it was. Also, I think that flask of colored waters thing sells for about 1 million. I know the odds are slim, but so are the odds of winning a PB from the fruit machine/tombola.

  2. Upgrading your buildings + nests give you XP, as well as increase your storage capacity and decrease nesting time (I think it's only by like 5 minutes or so though)

I heard some people on the neo boards were buying structures, building them, upgrading them, and putting them in their bag just to gain more points.

I have 55 nests, and I'm still busy upgrading them.

  3. I don't like that particular avie, and I'm bad enough at games and such that I'll probably never have an extraordinary avie count, so I would go for the dreamie. I don't know much about FFQs, having never had one, but I hear you can hold them forever, so I'd probably wait and get something nifty like a Choco draik or robot krawk (or is robot lab only?) I'm gonna go read up on FFQs now, just in case.

Colors that you cannot get via a FFQ include Royal, Ice, Robot, MSP, Usuki, Quiguki, Magma and Sponge

Eh, I'd still go for the choco draik or something.

  4. I bet I'm going to use that little button a whole load, once I only have larnikins.

I have an all-pinchit farm with mootix soldiers, so I really just need to distinguish between nesters & workers, but my nesters are always nesting. *shrug* I'm glad it's at least of use to some. I really hope that they make it so you can make a certain genre move at once. On the occasions I do want my nesters to harvest, it's a pain moving 40 of them one by one.

Also, it's cool that you can see what you are getting in your next level up now. It does take the mystery away, though. I guess I'm just hard to please.

  5. There's a new button in the Habitarium! I don't know if you have to be a certain level or anything... I just refreshed and it was there. (If it does have to do with levels, I'm lvl 41)

It appears you can high-light certain groups (soldiers/nesters/workers). Does anyone know if it can do anything else? Like move a whole group at once (like, if you wanted to house all your nesters or make all your workers gather wood). If all it does is high-light them, it's kinda lame. What do you guys think?

  6. 1. going on a super long hiatus (like 2 or 3 years. Lucky it didn't get purged). I wish I had at least collected daily interest... when I came back, I was getting 3k daily

    2. Selling a unbuyable (like 120k) for 2 falsely inflated TGC cards (went from 70k to 15k in like 5 days)

    3. my username.

    4. When I came back from hiatus, I didn't really know about switching mains, and stamp collecting was new. I got excited about them and started collecting right away. I had about 300k in stamps in my album, and was like "well, that's so much money, so I guess I'll just stay with this account" ... now I have like 400+ stamps. I'll probably regret it again when I get to like 600. :O

  7. Well, I always have my speakers off while on Neo, so shop music isn't really an issue. I can't stand any kind of background, though, even if it's just a plain color. What I really hate are those big banners that say what they sell. If all your shop sells is album items, and I'm already in your shop, then why do I need to see that your shop has a large collection of album items? Do they think I'll only notice if it's in 18-point font? o.0

All I have is a shopkeeper that you can select from the list. I don't think I even have anything written. I've gotten a couple of neomails that go along the lines of, "Thanks for not having a bunch of graphics in your shop. I have bookmarked it and will return because of this reason."

  8. I believe it should be fine despite TnT's stance on it. An avatar going to someone is not going to break the game.

I know it would be a rare instance, but what if the player in question was in the avatar collector's top list? Say you and I had the same amount of avatars, and I had someone play a game that I was bad at just so I could get another avatar. It could potentially bump you into a silver or bronze trophy, instead of getting you the one you deserve.

I'm not saying it would break the game, but it does take some of the fun out of it.

Personally, I'm in love with the Math's Nightmare avatar. I think it's the prettiest one. But I am only decent at the game. As many guides as I've read, I've never been able to get on the top list to receive the avatar. But I'm not going to ask someone else to play it for me, because like Emu_ said, it's just cheating. Why would I want a trophy/avie that really belongs to Usain Bolt?

If you were playing Monopoly in real life and were starting to lose, would you call in a friend to take over for you?

  9. Well, as of today, habitarium is out of beta! You can now max out at level 50! Turns out, hoarding eggs was the way to go! :) You can also see which pets are nesters/workers/soldiers when you click on your buildings, instead of having to drag them out and click on them to tell. Looks like you still can't rotate buildings or tally your eggs, but at least we have new levels. Good luck everyone!

  10. Personally, I don't see the point in getting an avatar/high score that you didn't earn.

My husband is good at games, and sometimes if there's a level I can't beat in a non-Neo game (like a PS3 game) I will have him play it so I can advance in the game if I'm really stuck on it.

It always annoys me, though, and I always end up going back and playing it until I not only beat the level, but get a better score.

Even if I had a sibling or cousin or something that played Neo and couldn't get an avatar, I wouldn't play it for them. Sure, I could beat say, Meepit Juice Break... but they could also play it on zen mode if they REALLY wanted it that bad... and then they would have done it themselves.

The closest I would come is borrowing pets for avatars. Even then, I'll only borrow the ones I have no interest in owning as a permie. For instance, I want a Krawk eventually, so I will never borrow one. I know I'll get it eventually.

  11. I've been thinking about the egg-counting thing as well and the shops gave me an idea.

Notice that in the shop it shows how many items you already have in your bag. Now, why not put all the double items in your bag in one slot, and put a number on it? Same goes for the eggs, for example if you have 2 mootix worker eggs, 4 pinchit nester eggs and 5 soldier larnkin eggs, it'd show up in your inventory as three seperate eggs with a 2, 4 and 5 on them. When you'd select the egg you'd see what type of p3 is inside, like how it is now.

It'd also save you all the scrolling through the eggs to get something else then mootix (or is it just me who hordes eggs? )

Selecting multiple p3s sounds cool, could also be convenient when you get attacked :)

I really like this idea. Looking through 8 pages of eggs is annoying. I can't imagine what will happen when I get to 20+

I'd also like choices when it come to buildings. I have a row of houses, a row of nests, and a row of storage buildings. It's quite dull, even with the basic ink colors (I refuse to pay NC for ink).

Rotating items would be great. I'd like to have a twig fence border, but it looks quite silly on the right and left sides (same thing with the pinecone fence on top and bottom)

And of course, more levels. I'm ready for more space, more p3's, and new stuff!

  12. Accounts are purged alphabetically. The pets purge with the account, so say if my account purged, and it had the pets a, g, r, and z, they would all purge with G, since that's what my account starts with. Not all accounts that are inactive for a very long time will purge, and there is no way of telling. Accounts with expensive pets/big shop/customized lookups have purged, and some accounts that look like side accounts with no activity at all have not purged. Only TNT knows what accounts will purge.

Currently, the purge is at letter S. You can find out where the purge is by looking on the Pound Chat board. The board you will look for is like this:

{} Purges & Marker Board (NO CHATTING PLEASE) Board #127

I'd suggest reading the above FAQs, and then looking for some names you would like. If you find a name you like that is on an inactive account, you can watch for it to purge. Names on accounts A-R that have been passed over probably will not purge, and no one knows when the next purge will be.

  13. Thank you :)

Hopefully with different themes on each of my accounts, I'd be able to tell which was which.

    :D

    Thank you!

It really does help! I have the green one on my main and the yellow on my side.

Also, to calm your nerves some more, once I clicked a tarla alert while on my side. I just saw that it was flashing and got excited. I sent in a report to TNT telling them what happened, and asking them to take the prize from my inventory. They never replied or took the prize, so I guess they didn't think it was that important! Anyway, that was before I made my accounts different colors. I've had different colors for over a year now, and haven't had a single slip up!

  14. Sadly there isn't any way at all to determine that. The codestone that you need to pay for training with is 100% random (probably saved TNT time coding it, maybe). Even the red codestones are random as far as I know. And as someone has already stated, only pets level 250+ require a red codestone and being trained at the Ninja school - so you don't have to worry about those yet.

Also to save time, you can search the TDN forums. It's right in the top right part of your TDNforum screen, under where it says "Signed in as [your username]" and your number of notifications and the Sign Out button. :)

Yes, it is completely random. I train my main pet quite a lot. If I'm training endurance, for example, once it might be 2 main codestones and 1 orn codestone. The next time, it might be 1 eo, 1 vo, and 1 tai-kai. There is no way to tell until you sign your pet up for training, and once the codestones are shown to you, you cannot change your mind, in order to use codestones you already have.

However, you can go to the training school on Krawk Island until your pet is level 40, I believe. You pay in dubloons, and the courses are usually cheaper than at Mystery Island. Also, you know exactly what dubloon you will need before you sign up for the class. There's a chart on the main page of the school to show you what denomination you will need.

  15. Is there any penalty for backing out on a trade after its been agreed on by both parties?

I believe there is one circumstance where it *could* be: say I am trading you a pet (like MSP), and I want a pirate pet in return, so you buy a brush (which costs about 10 million) and paint the pet, and then I back out. You don't really want the pirate pet, and your odds of getting another pet you like for the pirate species/name is rare, so in effect you're out quite a few NP.

I think something like that can be considered scamming, since you're making the other person lose NP.

I believe something like this was in the editorial, in issues 380 and 434. The wording is making it hard to understand, though.

    Also, straight from the editorial:

As long as the custom painting is done before the trade, that's fine. No items / Neopoints / additional Neopets can be traded along with the Neopet.

...and NC items can't be transferred unless they are sent in a gift box (for one of the first posts)

  16. I've never worn contact lenses though ... I do feel I'm a bit like Miyuki from Lucky Star, who is so scared of contact lenses she can't even go into an opticians to ask for them xD

I think I've tried to wear contacts about 5 or 6 times now. Every time, I try for about half an hour to put them in, then it kinda burns my eyes (the saline solution I guess?), then it takes me another 10 minutes to get it out. But my eyes are really sensitive. The last time I got that test where they blew a puff of air in your eye, I got one eye done, and then started shaking involuntarily. It was kinda scary!

  17. The last movie I watched was Inception. I felt like I missed the first 30 minutes of the movie, and I hate that there was a scene change/flashback/whatever every 2 minutes. It really irritated me, because it was such an amazing concept.

...Or maybe it was awesome and I've just lost some brain cells.

  18. yeah. lvl 25 is the max. After that you get 200np whenever you fill up your exp bar

Didn't know that. Is it still 6k-10k of XP, or does it go down?

Also, if I surround my entire border with those pinecone fences, will it keep those annoying blue pests out completely?

Oh, and there's no difference that I've noticed between the species of p3's. I let all my Larkins die off. I have Pinchit nesters and workers and Mootix soldiers, and it's been fine. :)

  19. I created my account, girlygirlhunter, when I was 11. At the time, I was a girlie girl who liked hunting. Unfortunately, some people think it means that I enjoy "hunting" girls. >.<

I LOVE the names of my sides (Cantankerous being my favorite), though I'd never switch because there's too much on my main.
