  1. So, you're lucky to get it in the first try, Shadaw. It didn't work for me. I'd used the pattern for two different games which have different maze. then, i figured my own idea, and it worked.

I tried the G,B,R,G,R too with no luck on getting Fort Nox. I also visited every room and after 3 times of playing, still no luck, then someone suggested you can only move 1 room per turn and yup, that did the trick. I guess it only checks where you are after the 5th color of each turn. To move into a room that thru a red door that has red and green doors, use R,B,B,B,B. If the room you are going to has 2 red doors, maybe try R,R,R,R,R and bounce in/out/in/out/in the room you want to go to. A few rooms were hard to get into because of wrong turns, and in some of those it was easier to loop around and come in from the other side if the room had 2 doors, otherwise, I had to just keep re-trying until it took the red (or blue or green) door I wanted instead of the red door to somewhere else.

Anyway, thanks to apekvanskapek for posting the clue I needed "You must move it only one room per set."

  2. I got all 3

    Ooh, Shiny!

    The Task at Hand

    Proximity Warning

by making it out the door 3 times carrying EVERY artifact plus bonus item(s) each time. Bonus items don't show up on a replay if you already got them.

It seems there are 3 starting layouts, one for each of the 3 tasks, so you need to complete each of the layouts.

Xandra can only zap horizontal or vertical, not diagonally, so if she chases you where she has a clean shot, use your turn to step to the side. If you need go get past her, stand still until she moves by clicking on the square you are already on, then move into the line she just moved out of.

  3. I have been doing the worms quest in Moltara. I have eight worms so far, but I still need the Black Worm and the Rainbow Worm. I've been refreshing the page for three days now! Are they this hard to "catch" or am I doing something wrong?

    Murph

I got all 10 of the worms my first time around, then on the second time, I got all but the black one and have been refreshing for 4 days not looking for it.

    From my observations:

The more worms you find, the slower it is to find another one.

I read somewhere that the refresh cycle is maybe 5 minutes. It seems to be more like 3 but somewhere around that range.

It appears as though neopets implemented an algorithm like this:

At each refresh cycle, first select a random number 1 to 10 indicating which worm is next.

Next check if the randomly selected worm has already been found, if so, ignore this refresh cycle and wait for the next one.

This would give you about a 10% chance of having the last worm show up at each refresh cycle.

However, thru other observations (with shop wizard) the random number generator used in neopia seems to be a non-uniform distribution and therefore if you divide the random numbers into 10 unevenly distributed buckets, one of them will have a probability much less than 10%, which is likely why it's so hard to find the black worm.
