  1. Man, I go through stages of saving and splurging. I will save for a while, then I will splurge a couple hundred thousand on this, that, and the other. Recently bought a full secret lab map, but only actually paid about 400k pure becuase I traded some items as well.

  2. My computer definitely lags, although it meets and surpasses the minimum requirements. In fact, I know people who have played on a total of six different computers, and ALL of them lag. The only computers I have played on that don't lag are the ones in my college's library.

And to dazara.. since you have never played on a lagging computer, you have absolutely no idea how frustrating it is. That is assuming that you even manage to actually finish a game (without being disconnected or having the game '"end abnormally"). And anyone who bothers to save up for stuff, collect stuff, are avatar hunters, etc. don't think of it just as "invisible money."

  3. Mine is only size eight, and I use it to sell stuff that I find lying around, or get from the garage sale. I don't expand it anymore, there is rarely anything beyond a codestone or two in there at a given time and those sell fast. It actually was only a size 6, but I have gotten 2 random events in the last month expanding it. It costs waaay too much to keep expanding shops, and galleries. I paid sooo much money to expand my gallery for my jelly collection, and when I liquidated it because I realized I could not complete the collection, I was left with regrets at the wasted NPs.

  4. I understand what you mean, Miss-Mimi. If you were to put up full price collat., why not just buy and resell anyways? Especially since avatar items are generally easy to sell. However, I think the system is a good one. I mean, yeah, if you just borrow it, then you don't have to go through the trouble of buying, and hopefully reselling at a price that is not a loss. The issue of partial collat. as opposed to full also makes sense, because if you are not a well known member, there is nothing to say that you are not one of those people that think "Hmm, I can get this million NP item for only 900k... who cares if I just keep it, sell it, make back my money plus 100k, and never post at that forum again."

  5. I think that a BD pet would be a great idea. :) I also think the ZDAP avatar is excellent, and while it will be a bit before I can afford collateral, I definitely will apply for it as soon as possible.

I'm new to the forums, though I have been using TDN for quite a while, and think I'll be going to donate right now, as this site has definitely helped me out quite a bit!

  6. I have read a couple of different things the last week or so regarding adopting a pet just to zap it and then pound it again. Anyone have any thoughts?

I think it is a great way to help out some people who cannot afford to paint a pet, however, how can you be really sure that the person who gets your pet can't afford to get a paint brush?

I guess so long as the pet is adopted, as opposed to just being created and then pounded, it is a nice way to help out other Neopians.

  7. I'm up to 194, but I'm not sure which is my proudest achievement. Maybe Pink, although I am upset because I was under the impression that I had to feed a pink pet pink spooky popcorn, as opposed to anything with the word popcorn in it, so I spent 250k on the popcorn... but at least I get the pink pet for free, as a very nice neopian lent it to me. :)

I am not so good on the games, though, so I only have a few avatars that can be received from games, which is disappointing. :(

  8. I think that many people definitely deserve to be frozen, but that many are unjustly frozen or suspended. I know people who do dailies and play games on side accounts every single day who never get caught, however, and that makes me mad. If you are going against the rules, then you should definitely be punished and you have no room to whine about it later.

The rules are set in place for a reason, and I think that a lot of the older players forget that Neopets is supposed to be a "family friendly" website, and that they shouldn't create usernames with foul language or sexually themed language, the same goes for guilds, as well. I have heard people saying that they think there should be an adult only section of Neopets, but if you think of it, that is kind of silly. Neopets is a game, you have pets and you play games to earn fake money to buy fake items, if you want to talk about things that are of an adult nature, you should take it elsewhere.

  9. You know, I had an account quite a few years ago, but lost the login info due to a period of inactivity. So I created this other one, and have had it for 4 years tomorrow without a single problem, but my roommate whom I introduced not even 8 months ago has already been suspended twice! I never understood how people could be frozen or suspended, heh.
