Themi
So my topic is basically an idea of what the people of neopets do for money. The reason I'm asking is because the prices of high-end battledome weapons, paintbrushes, and etc. seem pretty intimidating. Besides a patient gain of 50k a day, what are some tips veterans of Neopets can give the average person with gaining money. So far the only thing I can think of that would accumulate funds quickly is buying items low on the trading post, and selling them higher. With higher prices items, a gap could be up to 100-300k =D But still, you need to earn about 4 million or more to start earning fast profits with selling paintbrushes and other high end items. So the main question, what are some tips you can give people to help them strive for their dream items/weapons
-Kai-
I would say restock but is in a begining painfull and not so profitable but then it'll become a very good way of earning some NPs. and play lots of games :D
Stephé
Some people go for food club or stocks. I sometimes place safe bets at food club just to gain an extra 4k or so. Some people place their nps at the stock market and have enough patience to get a lot more back in their pocket. But of course there's restocking and the hard core game playing XD I personally just follow TDN's dailies guide everyday. ^_^
Coco
For me, restocking is only extremely profitable if you have a computer and internet connection fast enough to beat other restockers from getting an item. I get a hard enough time trying to get a rare item from the Chocolate Shop. XD I make 50k a day from playing games but I don't know if that's already your way of income. My other way of making NP is through Stocks. It's not exactly a gamble since the stocks will rise eventually but if you have the patience then it's a good, effortless way to make NP. naalaro
I am surprised that there are people patient enough to even play those flash games for a daily income of 50k O.O. Even as a restocker, im not sure i even get that much a day, although rarely i do turn in huge profits. Like today, made close to 700k in profits. From there i can expand and tell you, that restocking is profitable, but only after practicing,. oh, say close to half a year to a year? Of course the whole internet connection thingy, where having real hardware distinguishes yourself from the rest of the pack, is also an issue. However, im not using any top end connection and still get pretty decent restocks. So its also largely skill and how fast your mind is, and how fast you see things before others. That needs training. You could give the auctions and reselling a try too. Home in on hard to sell items, disregarding how difficult to sell it is. Most of these items go for less than half their value on the trading post simply because their owners cant wait. Thats where a sa reseller, you jump on it and treat it, as a long term investment. I once jumped on a two plushies selling for 125 k and 180k respectively, while their convined value was close to 800k. Sure i waited close to three months to sell them, but its worth it. Sniping on the auctions is like restocking...i guess, only this time your internet connection really, really counts, cause theres nothing much to do except click on bid every few seconds to try and outrun the competition, whcih can go up to over 50 people bidding AT THE SAME TIME. I tried it and got bored...cause i couldnt get anything :P
Themi
I havr an iincome of 50+ k a day playing flash games. It really does seem that a player needs a pretty good amount of money before actually making more. The stock market itself wouldn't give that much quick money IMO. I am talking about millions, not a few 100k here and there. It seems that being lucky and buying off restock and other people who want to get rid of things is the way to go. Since I'm basically new on my current account I am trying to figure out certain method to take shortcuts in money making
Mimii
Yeah if I were to play that many flash games in one day (and every day) I would not be on Neopets long..! XD I play Key Quest like a mad crazy fool. I have gotten over 10 paint brushes from that game and almost every time I get at LEAST one codestone and I get Neggs a lot as well. It's a gold mine! Snakeystew
Yeah, Mimi mentions a good way to get serious start up funds. If you use 10 keys every day, you'll soon build up a big stash of cash through - np earnt, paintbrushes, codestones, neggs, map pieces etc. On top of that I tend to mainly restock - hanging out in a good 20 shops. Best buy so far was the Snidberry Meerca Gobstopper but instead of cash I traded it with a draik morphing potion for the avatar. I was however offered a good 5 million for it. I also do stocks but I'm not patient like some people here so I just sell them whenever they're a decent enough profit and move on to the next one. Xepha
I'd say the hardest thing is to get your first million ever. Because when you start playing, you just can't save for the heck of saving... My principal income is still games. I love games and I can't help it. I take part into World Challenges too, which are game competitions going on each hours. That gives you World Challenge Map Pieces and when you turn them in, you get a prize. That's also a good income :) Also, I do invest into the stock market. The most I've gotten by selling a share at once was 800k. =D Maybe I'll start back restocking some days, but for now that's pretty much out now. I find it boring to wait for shops to restock and then I forget to refresh.
tempdisplay
i'm wit v. i asked this question ages ago wen i was still newbish. but restockin works and u should save up. also luck is a key factor.
Themi
From the looks of it, key quest is the begining of big profit and restocking because you get great, semi expensive items.now let me switch up my question since everyone has been so helpful. With a moderate amount of luck, how long do you think it would take to buy three high end bwttledome weapons, let's say accumulating to 30m. Snakeystew
Three months if you can make 10 mill a month, 6 months if you can make 5 mill a month or slightly over 2 years if you make 1 mill a month. Realistically, (if just playing keyquest), the first two can be ignored. :)
Deepti M.
I make 150 K a month at least, and some people make a million? 0_o I feel like a fool. :P
Themi
Three months if you can make 10 mill a month, 6 months if you can make 5 mill a month or slightly over 2 years if you make 1 mill a month. Realistically, (if just playing keyquest), the first two can be ignored. :) I don't think simple division would work that well... Under constant conditions (playing same amount per month) I think that the first month you would gain the least. If you see a 20m item in the trading post for 15m or even an item worth 15m, in the first few months you would not be able to buy it because well... you don't have that kind of money yet. Lets say you reach 30 mil, you can make these kind of power trades. I think (hope) later on money increase follows an exponential growth. I've been playing for nearly a week and maybe a day or two now and i've gotten 500k. Added, I used to play a lot so I have a pretty good idea of what I'm doing. Also I'm counting Key Quest out of the matter because it is bogus >_<... It's bogus because I don't know how to play it or what it is :crying:
Tam
I think once you have the Adam avatar (if thats your kind of thing) there is no need to have large amounts of NP at the bank. Personally I love collecting paintbrushes and am slowly saving up, but I do think battledome weapons and special/retired books are a better investment. Either way it's all about patience. Whats your end goal?? are you a battler or do you want the prestige etc?
Themi
Personally i don't think 9M is that much ( the adam avatar). Thats the price for one good battle dome item. I am comparing neopoints to Battledome items because that is what is the most expensive. I mean, for the best out of the best its around 700M . Like really 700M lol...
