If he's not sick though...then that's kind of strange. o_O The only thing I can tell you is that using a plushie is cheapest (since you only need one, they all work the same, and there are plenty that sell for 10NP or less), but you have to play with it a *lot*, once or twice isn't going to make much of a difference. The other thing that works quite well for me is the Merry Go Round on Roo Island -- costs 50 NP a go, but it boosts your pet's mood very quickly.
