World in Chaos

It is the year 2113 - there is, and has been for the past 50 years, a period of calm in the world, with a new, more powerful United Nations enforcing human rights around the globe. Their armed forces root out the cause of any unrest, settling it quickly and effectively, and diplomatic talks often get things done without the loss of a single life. Terrorism has been eliminated, and international crime rates are incredibly low. The peaceful world that everybody has dreamed of has finally been achieved - or so it seems.

Beneath the surface, several powerful underground organizations are vying for control of the world. The largest of these is the United Nations Covert Operations Division (UNCOD), a branch of the UN that has the job of maintaining the stability of the world's economy through underground deals, smuggling, extortion and assassination. They are almost completely ruthless, and although their intentions are good, the morality of their actions is disputable.

Discontent with and suspicious the UN's tight control of the world's economy, many large companies, including Blackwind Inc. and Microsoft, have taken up much the same routine, hiring assassins and thugs to compete fiercely with UNCOD's elite troops.

You can join as an assassin on the payroll of UNCOD or any of the companies (you can come up with your own names), or you can be a neutral assassin that goes where the money takes him/her.

Name: Your name, usually a codename instead of your real name

Affiliation: UNCOD, any of the companies, or neutral

Specialties: What your character does best, eg. cracking security systems, unarmed combat

Main weapon: Describe the main weapon that your character uses

Description: Anything else you want to add

Name: Switch

Affiliation: UNCOD

Specialties: Hacking, fiddling with electronics, making and handling weapons

Main weapon: A small, black energy pistol, which he can adjust to fire anything from a wide spread shot to a concentrated blast

Description: He doesn't actually do assassination as much as the other agents, spending more time on his computer gathering intelligence or designing and building weapons for the other assassins, however he does still get called out often

Switch stood crouched on the roof of a high-rise apartment block that was as close as he could get to the roof of Blackwind Inc.'s headquarters. That wasn't saying much, as the security conscious Blackwind planners had made sure that the building was at least 500 meters away from any adjacent skyscrapers. Still, it wasn't a problem. Fingering a panel on his overly bulky backpack, Switch jumped off the roof, and a moment later, two glider wings unfolded, carrying him rapidly towards the side of the Blackwind tower. He grinned. Not many assassins realised that nowadays it was actually easier to disable the alarm and any cameras and sneak in through a window, instead of punching in through the roof.
