Myriad Posted November 9, 2007 Author Posted November 9, 2007 No, I'm pretty sure there were concerts. It has something to do with their songs.
Ellie_Penguin Posted November 10, 2007 Posted November 10, 2007 Hmm, is it because back then you weren't able to do changes to the songs using the equipment?
Myriad Posted November 10, 2007 Author Posted November 10, 2007 Yeah, the answer saud because they had no distortion in the 1950s. But close enough! In forests I'm leafy In deserts I'm like sand You'll find it hard to see me Even if I'm in your hand.
ishamaria Posted November 10, 2007 Posted November 10, 2007 A palm? That's the first thing that popped into my head. Or Germs! Or a Chameleon! How 'bout cells? Is it air? A storm? Wait that can't be in your hand. Can it? Sorry if I posted too much.
Myriad Posted November 11, 2007 Author Posted November 11, 2007 Lol! Maybe! Well, the answer was chameleon, whic was your 3rd guess. :P Though my gray beginnings are not so pretty, I grow quite well into my beauty. Alabaster white or black as night, My grace is known world wide. I may make my home in the chilly Arctic, I'm also known well down under, From North America to South America I may be known to trumpet. As a female I may Pen my name, While the males may prefer to pick at a Cob. But near or far my beauty is known by lore and by myth.
Ellie_Penguin Posted November 11, 2007 Posted November 11, 2007 Is it a swan? "Though my gray beginnings are not so pretty, I grow quite well into my beauty" That's the story of the ugly duckling, right?
Myriad Posted November 12, 2007 Author Posted November 12, 2007 Yeah. :) What a cute story. Also, a female swan is a Pen and a male is a Cob. What 8 letter word has KST in the middle, in the beginning, and at the end?
antiaircraft Posted November 12, 2007 Posted November 12, 2007 I think it's 'inkstand'. Okay, so I had nothing to do for half an hour. :P
smumpkins Posted November 13, 2007 Posted November 13, 2007 Yeah, I believe Theo is right on that one. I can't think any other solution.
Myriad Posted November 14, 2007 Author Posted November 14, 2007 Yeah. :D That was rated a hard one, so good job! If you got that, you'll probably get the next one. We're 5 little items of an everyday sort, you'll find us all in a tennis court. What are we?
antiaircraft Posted November 14, 2007 Posted November 14, 2007 I've heard this one before, so I'll pass on it. Good luck to everybody else. :P
Ellie_Penguin Posted November 14, 2007 Posted November 14, 2007 That one is easy. I believe the answer is the Vowels.
Myriad Posted November 14, 2007 Author Posted November 14, 2007 Wow, you guys are quick. :O I'll post another one, because that was quite easy. Used left or right, I get to travel, Over cobblestone or gravel. Used up, I vie for sweet success, Used down, I cause men great duress. What am I?
Ellie_Penguin Posted November 14, 2007 Posted November 14, 2007 Since no one has answered, then I will XD. Is the answer "your thumbs"? I'll probably pass the next one to give others a chance.
ishamaria Posted November 14, 2007 Posted November 14, 2007 No you answered! No! I just came home so well, this sucks.
Myriad Posted November 15, 2007 Author Posted November 15, 2007 Lol, you can get this one! It's a paper one. I don't think i've ever done one of these. You will need a working pen and a sheet of paper for this one. Orient the paper into landscape form, and write this on the paper: 620 = 3000 Your challenge: Add only two lines to make the equation valid. You cannot: Cross the equation sign to obtain a "not-equal" sign. Fold the paper in any way. Draw any curves. Place any decimal points. Place any middle dots (for multiplication). Use "000" as a distinct number.
Myriad Posted November 17, 2007 Author Posted November 17, 2007 I don't really know what that means, but i'm guessig you can't put down a dot, and say it's a line, maybe?
Myriad Posted November 18, 2007 Author Posted November 18, 2007 No, there's no need to move anything around.
ishamaria Posted November 18, 2007 Posted November 18, 2007 Wow. This is really hard for me. Bleh. How hard (out of 10) will you rate this? Edit. Is it 620 < 3000? You add 2 lines on the left to the= sign to make <.
Neiska Posted November 18, 2007 Posted November 18, 2007 I was thinking of putting down to lines making an x 260 = 3000x or 260x = 3000... But that's not it, is it? Because why put it in landscape form then...?
Captain Awesome Pants Posted November 19, 2007 Posted November 19, 2007 Me thinks ishamaria has gotten it right. While it is a weird looking greater than sign.
ishamaria Posted November 20, 2007 Posted November 20, 2007 That's the only thing that seems poddible to me. Myriad where are u?
