So, the ads help keep TDN up and running by paying for all the stuff, including this forum you're chatting on right now. :O However your suggestion to just place them on the site, wouldn't entirely remove them. :D Maybe if someone bought that one ad space that is for sale the rest could come down, who knows, depends on the prices that are worked out with Ian and the advertiser. XP Keep them there, don't get rid of them, because I know very few of us can actually spend money on this site. Samuel Posted September 13, 2007 Share Posted September 13, 2007 If you're referring to the forum adverts, these provide a good deal of the ad's revenue percentage. There's very few ads on the forum, and we use an AdBot to make sure they're integrated into the system (and thus, you don't have some ugly great banner ad on the top of every single forums page) so you barely even notice them. The adverts on the main site again provide necessary revenue, and unfortunately can't be helped. We're not the only website with adverts on; and we make sure that they're not obtrusive and don't contain inappropriate material. Other Neopets help sites are more self-sufficient (or for whatever reason are unable to host ads), but unfortunately the adverts are neccessary on TDN and will be staying. If you'd like to donate any amount of money (US$5+) then feel free to email [email protected] and Ian can arrange for funds transfer online.
