Awesome_Paul Posted August 25, 2007 Posted August 25, 2007 I just used an IP thing, to find out where my IP is from. And apparently, I got back that im located in the US (california, when I live in the UK) Can anyone explain this. Did a hacker change it or something, If so, is there a way to change it back?? Quote
Awesome_Paul Posted August 25, 2007 Author Posted August 25, 2007 BT, its a British provider, so its confusing how, my IP is now in California :P Quote

Awesome_Paul Posted August 25, 2007 Author Posted August 25, 2007 Though the problem is, the IP website i used, which showed me my IP. may have shown a wrong one. (is there anyway to find out your own IP) EDIT: Doing abit of Research and apparently Thats not my IP, My IP is correctly in my town. Yet it saying, Im using i Proxy server California. Any idea what this is, and how i can get it back to my server. Quote
smumpkins Posted August 25, 2007 Posted August 25, 2007 If it says that you're using a proxy, it's probably either a glitch with the site, or a setting on your browser. It doesn't matter what it says you're located at. Essentially, as long as you're online, there shouldn't be any issues. You could try setting your IE back to its default settings, if that's what you're using. Quote
Matt Posted August 25, 2007 Posted August 25, 2007 Randomly tells me I'm in California when searching my IP address sometimes, but with any site with regional settings, it puts me in the UK like it should. :) As long as it doesn't cause any problems now, I don't see any problems occuring in the future. Awesome_Paul Posted August 25, 2007 Author Posted August 25, 2007 Apparently, when finding that proxy, Its Google proxy. and thats based in California. But yeah when seraching on another site, it said, im in the UK. Quote
smumpkins Posted August 25, 2007 Posted August 25, 2007 The only real way of checking to see if that's the issue, would be to have a couple other people try it out. I volunteer, if you'll provide the URL. :glasses: Quote
