GriffindDWolf
Actually in my opinion any story/comic idea usually works better if you have an idea of where you want the story to go and then what characters should appear. If not you'll have a large list of characters and no idea of how your going to fit them in.
The Original Luna
I have the plan- I'm just not stating it- as there may be Idea-thieves lurking.
fun_time_mathias
Few questions. 1) Is there a set order/government on the island? 2) Have there been any established relationships (family, romantic, comrade, friendship, etc.) established in your mind yet? 3) Is this more of a humorous or dramatic storyline? 4) You have the hero set up, but do you have a set villain or does it differ at times? I like the cast so far but are there more centaurs or satyrs on the isle? What about other creatures like brownies?

Yes- the hero has been separated at birth- he finds the sibling. 3. Semi. Sort of both. 4. Varies at times A few more Centaurs- no more than 6. There are no Satyrs or Human based characters such as Vampires and Werewolves. Brownies being like Faeries?
fun_time_mathias
Yeah, brownies are basically faeries or sprites. The order of the 12 dragons is a good idea, and I mainly wanted to see how some of the groups were distributed populace wise. The dramedy gives you more fleixbilty with the option to flesh out characters if you choose to do so or take a break and relax with the script writing and go free form. Have you got in your mind how the reunited siblings will be around each other? I can suggest having it start off strained with hitches in the road but a build up to a strong relationship or it could be more easy going at first but secrets tear them apart and keep them seperated for good until some monumentous occasion calls them ot stand together or divide forever. Not everything has to be a happy ending after all.
The Original Luna
1. No brownies- there are Selkies and Mermfolk though. 2. there are around 30 Dragons, (not all of them on the island at specific times) about 50 griffin, (again not all on the island) and the rest varies. But only one man. 3. Ok, the separation thing- three eggs. One is stolen, one is crushed- Aquila survives. Later, many years, Aquila finds the stolen Griffin, but thinks they aren't related. Arguements. Then a trip to the eldest Griffin. and eldest Griffin identifies the sibling. 4. There's a saddish ending.
fun_time_mathias
Alright, I gotta be heading out soon for my girlfriends birthday celebration, but before I go lemme know if you want personalities, appearances, suggestions for depth or what and I'll brainstorm about it and post tonight when I get back. The Original Luna
erm, just names- what they are and appearance. Personality if you can think of them. Thank-you!
GriffindDWolf
it might be interesting to add in something like highly intelligent horses since in some myths griffins and horses are enimies. I'll try and think of a few ideas, don't know how that will go but I'll try.
fun_time_mathias
If you need names I got 'em in spades. I'm a name generator for my friends stories. I'm just gonna throw out some here without thinking too much about race, so I can do more race specific ones with titles later. Males-Uru, Gartren, Telon (Tay-lon), Xall (Zall), Harta, Brosken, Poliurtus Females-Lyon (Lee-oen), Yalana, Resqua, Kalia (Kah-lee-ah), Jamine, Ovenia, Mariana If you give me a character and a bit of backstory I can flesh it out really well too, but when it comes to developing from scratch I need the general race background and their positions on the island. I can do either, it's fine by me.
The Original Luna
Intelligent horses- There are Centaurs- people/horses. A few talking horses, (not many)- I came up witth the idea of Centaurs and Griffins having had a war in the past- (that's why few centaurs)
fun_time_mathias
Hmm, I got one for a backstory here but I don't know how good it'll be because I'm not sure when the war was, but it can be altered to fit. Gareth was the son of the eldest Centaur on the island and was raised to know the history of his people on the island. Gareth had always been raised solely amongst the centaurs and stags because of his fathers hatred for the griffins and mistrust of the dragons. As Gareth grew, his father told him of the previous war that had decimated the produ centaurs in the name of the arrogant and despicable griffins that now controlled them. But Gareth didn't learn all the facts and merely learned what came from his father, twisting the truth to understand his situation. As he grew and learned more of the one-sided truth, his hatred of the Griffins grew as well. Gareth had been blessed with a quick ability to learn combat skills and was a master archer who had great practice shooting moving and flying targets from hunting birds and game as he grew. Gareth saw the miserable state of the centaurs now and his already deep rooted hate became a desire for revenge as he planned to even the numbers and take revenge on the griffins who had destroyed his people. Gareth has little care for himself and will sacrifice himself to make his plans work. He has spent all time not training and learning exploring the island to gather as much info as he can about all resources on hand and has memorized much of the island as a result. Need me to go more in depth here?
The Original Luna
That's good! I've so far started making it on Corel- On the third picture is a beast that resembles a Moropus.
fun_time_mathias
Nice to see you can use Corel, I'm more of a Maya and Photoshop guy when I can be bothered to even use one of them. Lemme know if there's more I can do, always here to help.
The Original Luna
-What's Maya? Is it like photoshop?
fun_time_mathias
Maya is a 3D design program that is used mostly in constructing realistic images and models. It's rather expensive but the level of detail it provides is insane, allowing you to create programs inside of it, download models from the net to use in your work and work on every edge, curve, face and point.
