I think that they're pressing too hard for people to buy the neocash. They don't even tell you very well that it's a pay service until you're ready to buy the item. And what's with them disappearing? If I'm gonna pay for something, I want it to stay around. I'm afraid that they'll start conjuring up other things that end up becoming pay services and soon it'll become like runescape or gaia, where if you don't give them your money then you're at a serious disadvantage and will never live up to people who do pay. That's one thing I love about neopets, and why I've been on for so long... they do a good job of making you feel welcome on the site even if you're not there to give them money. I think it's perfectly alright for them to have a pay service like that, but my problem is if it goes beyond this point.

I'm fine with the NC Mall this far, since non-paying players are still fine, but I just hope TNT has their head screwed on the right way and don't mess it up.

TNT doesn't need anymore money, they earn enough.

Little kids are going to go asking their parents for the money to pay for 'these uber cool items for their favorite game' and the parents, not wanting to disappoint will help them order them or however it's done.

 

And then little kid will be disappointed when one day the item goes *poof*. =(

And it's not to keep neopets free...what a lie, they are telling there. I'd love to see the expenditure of that site, I bet it certainly doesn't need any other ways to make money. But TNT certainly should try harder to keep the community it has happier with the actions taken.

Also, your statement is now invalid since TNT made almost all of the items in the NC Mall last forever recently.

But C'mon now, not all good things in life are free.

 

It's like walking into a store and expecting to get the items you want for free.

Now unless you want to be arrested, this is very unlikely to happen. Companies need money in order to continue doing what they do.

 

What may have started as a small site with a couple of pages, is now a huge site on a ton of servers.

To be honest, I actually agree with Neopets. Everyone who disagrees basically are selfish and care only about themselves.

 

I'll wrap this up with a small statement:

Neopets is not forcing you to buy anything. They also aren't forcing you to even be here on the site.

Neopets is a company for your own entertainment. If it doesn't entertain you enough, leave.

That's true. Running something as big as Neopets must take a massive amount of funding.

 

I just hope this isn't pushed too far. I've seen what some supposedly 'free' sites/games are like, and it's not pretty. *shudders*
