Ellie_Penguin
Sometimes when Mods are not on, there are newbies who come and start spamming or break the rules that annoy the heck out of us. So, I was wondering if in those cases it is "okay" to tell them that they are breaking the rules?
Guest HBK
No, it's stated in TDN's rules that you shouldn't backseat mod. In case someone is spamming, hit the Report button. :)
Superfly
No, it's stated in TDN's rules that you shouldn't backseat mod. In case someone is spamming, hit the Report button. :) So what do you do when someone is spamming the shoutbox. There is no report button for the shoutbox. How do you know which staff member is going to get online next, so how would you know which staff member to PM? While us saying something on the shoutbox might get it to stop, it doesn't delete it. So I guess what I'm trying to say is, how do we 'report' spam on the shoutbox?
The Big Cheese
Alright, if someone comes on and spams the shoutbox, and has posted like 10 messages in 5 seconds, you can tell them to stop if you want, but it probably wont do any good, your best choice is to pm a staff member, IM a staff member, or report another post (such as the rules or something) and say that someone is spamming the shoutbox, it works the same way. Otherwise, if you want to nicely let someone know that they are breaking the rules, send them a PM. If they didn't mean to, they will know and you wont get it trouble for backseat modding. Basically, dont tell people to do anything if theyre breaking the rules, just remind them that they are doing it and only if its a real problem. And to sortof contradict everything I just said, any situation that annoys you enough to tell the person probably means they dont care. If it doesn't hurt you, ignore it. supernatural_sheepy
In addition to this... we don't get much activity on the shoutbox, anyway. C'mon, TJ, let's not have to appease the what-ifs, eh? >_>' Btw, nice siggy. =D This topic has been edited by a member of staff (Angel Anime) because of a violation of the forum rules.
