Chipmonker
Many businesses and organizations (atleast in the US) require the standard drug test on all potential employees even before they are hired. Futhermore, some organizations also allow for random drug testing, where at anytime or for any employee, they may be tested for drugs with their jobs on the line. Do you, TDN users, believe that businesses should be allowed to do that? Or does that kind of policy infringe upon the rights of privacy.
Ellie_Penguin
I think it's a good thing. In my case, I would love to know who could be a possible threat to me and the company. Last time I checked, drugs are illegal...
Awesome_Paul
They have that in the Uk, At teh moment im applying for an apprenticeship, and at the beginning before you start you get a drug testing. Though I don't mind because: 1) Its working on Signalling, where you have to be 100% focused or you could kill hundreds of people 2) I have nothing to hide. So I think it is fair, employees have a right to find out everything about the person their employing to make sure he is suitable for the job
Matt
I think it's a perfectly sensible thing to do. If the Police suspect someone of drink driving, they'll administor a breath test. The person has no say in the matter. If they refuse, they get sent down to the Police station. If they do and are found to be over the limit, they are fined and told to walk home (Well duh!). If they take the test and pass, they're allowed to continue. It's just a way to ensure everyone is safe. Drug testing isn't different. If they have nothing to hide, they'll go with it. If they do, they're more likely to object and the testers will get suspicious.
kikaown
Yes, the answer is somewhat obvious to me. If you are not taking drugs, you should not object. If you are, you deserve to be caught.
