brynchilla Posted February 15, 2015 Share Posted February 15, 2015 I think it depends on the situation, and what exactly the journalist is doing. Sometimes it's easier to get real/full reports if the people you're talking to don't know you're a reporter. At the same time, they might also say things they don't want put in the paper, and it's at the journalists whims as to whether or not they're put in. I think as long as no one is being hurt, it's okay. In a way, it's sort of like babysitting. Your friends with the kids and have fun with them, but at the same time you're also reporting back to the parents about things that go wrong. I absolutely wouldn't have wanted that publicized without my permission. With my permission, fine, but the names (not that I gave him any) would have to go.
