I don't remember how many items it took, but it took quite awhile because a lot of players were doing the same thing so the shops were frequently out of stock and it was harder to get items when it restocked. I got it on my first purchase one day! I think I got a spooky doughnut or a spooky steak..not sure which was cheaper. I got the cheapest one I could find.
