funkasarusrex
So here's how I see it: While you're leveling up your habitarium you reach a point where you're one level from a storage upgrade and you just need the xp. Why build more? They're just in the way! Why not just fill the ones you have completely? This logic has come back to be as I round the corner into level 50. There's a limit to how many items you can have in your inventory before you get locked out, so why not make the most of all your storage units (since you're giving up building resources to get/upgrade them) by completely filling them with supplies before banking them into storage? It's unlikely Neopets is ever going to upgrade them, so eventually you're going to start running out of space. Why not get the most xp for your space while you're at it? Am I missing something? Is there some massive trick I've completely misunderstood?
Crystalline
Well, the way I see it, there is no reason to stockpile resources. You say "giving up resources" like you're losing something, when really the resources are just currency for the main goal: XP. If you want to gain XP as quickly as possible, then it's better to build stuff. Building things (nests, storage, etc.) gives you XP, while buying food doesn't. Sure, food can provide some XP by attracting invaders, but that's only useful if you can actively collect the gems as soon as they drop. Since I doubt you'd want to watch your Habitarium 24/7, a large percentage of your gems will probably expire before you can collect them anyway. Hope that helped!
