sdcd
HI Everyone, I need help deciding what to buy from the HT on discount day. I'm thinking I need a better shield or a bomb. Here is what I have: Brynns Legendary Sword of Wraith Smiting Bow of Destiny Randomly Firing Freeze Ray Downsize! Prickly Potion Greater Healing Scroll Leaf Shield I also have another prickly potion and a Hanso Charisma Charm in my SDB, if needed. Here are my pets stats: Lvl : 200Str : 219Def : 116Mov : 116Hp : 397 / 409 I'm trying not to spend more than 8 million NPs, but I do want to spend it wisely :) Thanks for any help, suggestions, advice! General Technology
I'd suggest getting a better constant or bomb, to be honest. Sell your Brynns Sword of Wraith Smiting and get a Skarls Hasty Mace. It'll pack a punch. If you don't like that, then get a Ghostkerbomb or a Hubrid Nox Memorial Shield. But since your defense is much lower than your strength, go for offensive items instead.
sdcd
I have been training endurance and using FQ cookies. Would you recommend training to increase defence?
General Technology
Well, that is entirely up to your choice and to your budget. I would honestly say yes. Some people would like to train up their strength first. Then they proceed to Snegging (+1 to 2 HP, +1 to 2 movement), then to ANegging (+1 defense). A balanced pet is a personal preference, but if it were up to me, I'd say work on strength first before defense. I'd say train up to a 250 boost on your pet, because you are very close. Then begin training defense and HP (it's up to you if through item training or through training school). As I have said before, your constants are pretty nice but can be upgraded in terms of raw power. I personally like the Bow of Destiny and dislike the Brynns Sword of Wraith Smiting, so I suggested that you upgrade to Skarls Hasty Mace, which does much more damage in all honesty. You'll soon find yourself upgrading to the Anagram Series + Kelpbeards Trident series, which are more reliable and consistent. But if you do decide on keeping your constants, then your next choice would be a bomb, shield, healer or freezer. The only upgrades for those I would recommend to you would be the following: Bomb: Ghostkerbomb, don't go for any Rainbow Clockwork Grundo or Honey Potion. If you want a bomb, GBomb is the way to go. Not much need to settle for an intermediate bomb. Shield: Faerie Tabard + Ghostkershield combination covers all icons with two full blockages of water and dark. For raw defensive power, go for Hubrid Nox Memorial Shield, which pairs amazingly with Clawed Shield (a reflector, despite it's name). The CS + HNMS combo covers at least 3 dark, at least 5 of every other icon except light (which it fully blocks) and fire (which it reflects by 61-80%). That's the combo that I am personally working on getting. Freezer: The 100% freezers such as the non-damaging H4000 Helmet, the two water-icon dealing Freezing Potion (tactically good), the three physical-dealing Magical Marbles of Mystery (more icons, less favorable icon type) and the defensive Heavy Blue Tunic (which has an intel requirement of around 1000 I think?) Healer: With your HP, you have very few options. I would definitely suggest along the lines of Crisp Blue Tunic (which has an intel requirement and needs lots of strategy, go to the Battlepedia for more details) or Bag of Healing Dust (50% heal, but is very rare right now) - both of which are highly inflated due to demands. sdcd
I think with the HT discount on Wed. I am going to get the GBomb. Then continue saving (and selling) as much as possible to go straight to the Kelpbeards Trident. Hopefully the leaf shield will be adequate until I can afford the Hubrid Nox. coltom
The Leaf shield is a poor weapon at your level, as there are only limited number of foes that wield attacks of Earth that make the shield worth using. Royal Blue Cape and Sophie's and Patch Magic Hats are decent choices. You take into battle the shield that defends the most against your opponent's attack. To defend against an attack that is not there, is less than worthless. Given your strength level, why worry about shields? Better to attack, making sure your opponent doe not have a full blocker that destroys your attack, or a bent fork. You'll always attack more than you can defend, so why defend? Stock up on healing potions while you can. My daughter's pet was at a level similar to yours at the first of the year. Given the rock bottom prices of red codestones, it is far cheaper to train once you are above the 250 level. Compared to regular codes, you'll pay 1/5 and will be able to train every four hour once you get to Ninja school. Plus, there will be Jade el. and Thick Smoke bombs that can be bought ever 1/2 hour. Even now there is a nice little profit in selling, during an actual war I suspect you can dispose of any excess for a nice chuck of points. Sell your random freezer, get a full freezer like the Magic Marbles. That will be your best choice.
General Technology
I agree with coltom. Attacking your way to defeating an enemy is the best strategy for you. My suggestions were for eventual use, when you've properly balanced your pet. Those are still definitely options, and I still stand by my original suggestion of a bomb or two constants for your upgrade. But the freezer can also make a difference. A 100% freezer + dual-duty/shield, then GBomb + Powerful constant can decimate your opponent within those two turns, given your high strength boost. For harder opponents, that is an entirely different story though, especially if they have the ability to fully heal after that much damage :/
coltom
For a number of opponents at your ( our) battle level the full freezer will get you through most battles. My daughter's pet is at the 500 strength, 250 defense and about 430 HP. For prizes, I tend to use a shield and my MMoM against the Mutant Whalien, and then attack with KBT and Honey Potion. Unless I get froze on the first round, the attack on the second round is enough to win the battle. With anything less than a full freezer, than strategy gets way more complicated. My suggestion on your set, is geared towards the enemy being upon us no more than a week, most likely in days. While you could increase strength with six ASP I wouldn't suggest that route. (Even if I do have 14 ASP awaiting the right price in my lock box). We're half way to the ground, not enough time to exchange our 9mm sidearm for the M-16. We'll have to make do with what we have.
