md97 Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 How come only Canada and United States use Jeffrey and the rest of the english speaking countries use Geoffrey? Quote
Zorse Posted November 10, 2012 Posted November 10, 2012 I didn't know that... I don't know, just one of those things like color/colour I guess My donkey is named Jeffrey... when I named him I didn't even know Geoffrey wasn't common... I just chose Jeffrey because I like the spelling better  Quote
Guest ErikaChristine Posted November 10, 2012 Posted November 10, 2012 Yeah, I guess it's just a cultural thing. But I'm from Canada and I know quite a few males named Geoffrey/Geoff. And it's also a generational thing, Geoff was a pretty popular name in the 80's and then dropped off in the 90's and beyond. Quote
Nicole C Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 Here in Singapore, we use both Jeffrey and Geoffrey! But Geoffrey is way rarer. Quote
lilshadowdweller Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 We use both here in Canada! My ex-boyfriends name was "Geoffrey", not "Jeffrey". And I know a few more "Geoff's", too. xD I can tell you for sure that Canada does use Geoff. Quote
