Friendship Problem

A guy texted my bestfriend. He texted "Rebecca is trying to ruin Emma and your friendship." Rebecca is my bestfriend also. People call her fake and she lies alot. She lied to me a couple of times. My other bestfriend,Gema, said Rebecca made Desiree and Gema stop being friends.

What should I do? Stop being her friend? What if she spreads rumors or something?

Now I'm the last person who should give any form of advice but:

 

What kind of best friend (or person in general) lies and spreads rumors. You shouldn't be best friends with her but I believe everyone needs at least one friend and she sounds like the type who repels everyone.

 

If she really is as bad as everyone says she is, you need to change her behavior for the better if you really are/want to be her friend. (Rebecca). If she rejects your help after a while then maybe she isn't worth your time and you need to start avoiding her. I don't know the situation at all or who these people are so, for me, it's definitely hard to put together a solid scenario and a blueprint for what you should do. With the info you provided however, I'd say she's either very troubled and needs help, or is a lost cause.

When she was younger, [something bad happen] I don't know if that is bothering her and changed her. I can't change her behavior. She wouldn't let me.

There isn't much you can really do to change another person. I have had some problems with friends similar to that in the past, and I found that just removing them from my life was the best thing I could do. Life is too short to have it filled with people who end up being poisonous.

 

She is your friend though, and you know her, and the situation better than anyone else. Do what feels like it would be the best for you.
