I've never seen negative neopoints before, which may simply mean I haven't been paying attention. I don't know how I came to have negative points or how to avoid it in future. I thought that if you tried to buy something you couldn't afford, you would simply not be able to buy it...What gives? I did highlight the number of points to be sure the negative sign was part of the number and not something on the surface of my screen or something in the bg. It really is...er...was there. When I withdrew 200 np from my bank, I then had 61 np. I have been playing plushie factory and recently lost, but that doesn't impact my out of game np, does it??

That happens when you've run into an RE that stole a certain amount of NPs more than what you had on hand! That's the only time it can go into negatives.

It'll balance back out to 0 once you withdraw enough. :)

I've had negative Neopoints in my past, although, I can't recall what occurred for it to happen. But yeah, I think it's pretty common. It'll go away soon once you get back your Neopoints, although, you'll lose some which you have earned to the negative.

I thought they could only take away the amount that you had on hand?

An RE, or apparently LoD, are the only ways to get into negatives, I think!

The mutant kad RE can steal 5000np from you, and, yes, will put you into negatives if you don't have the cash on hand. There was actually a little saga in the editorial not too long ago about that...
