Personally, I would suggest beating him up as much as you can with your battle pet for revenge, that's what I do.

 

I hope you manage to still complete the plot though.

I don't recall it being needed in the plot, at any point at all.

 

It's not a wearable, though, it comes under Altadorian Armour.

 

It is a shame, though, I would buy you one if I could but... *shrug* non tradeable. It won't affect your plot, though! :)
