eightbitdimwit
And not because of Zelda. ;) I found this on YouTube, and was so struck by the sound of the ocarina that I decided to research and listen further. I've gone my whole life wanting to learn an instrument but feeling awkward and unskilled with music (my parents managed to teach me half of Mary Had a Little Lamb as a child), and these are turning that feeling around. I highly recommend them to everyone. <3 Even if Saria's Song isn't the first one I learn, I guess I still gain 10 geek points for this. Nataluna
good on you! my parents weren't that concerned with me learning an instrument (but i really wanted to learn piano and violin) and yes its probably geek points, but its an awesome instrument in its own right :) good luck learning! Thanks! I love violin too, but I hear it's difficult. I'm a clutz, so I'd probably find some way to break mine early on too.
Nataluna
also i have no patience for practice :P and i believe the fingering becomes an issue, mine are normal, but not very long like some people so i imagine i'ld have a bit more problems (and i'm really unco-ordinated) do you have a teacher for the ocarina? or self learning? I'm a little uncoordinated, too, but I think it's one of those things that can improve with time. If it were something like the violin I'm sure I'd need a teacher, but I think I can manage the ocarina on my own. There's even a nice forum or two that'll help me out if needed, and I have a few friends who are musicians or have had ocarinas if I just need general feedback. Saxen
That song is so beautiful, I love the sound of the Ocarina :) Wonderful choice! I'm learning the Flute at the moment but I've been neglecting it of late :P
Sweetdang
Congrats on learning something you've always wanted to! :D I myself am terribly untalented in the musical sector, so I won't be picking anything up anytime soon! :P
