Aalnius
im a pretty average rs'er when im at home on a good connection but im at uni atm so my connection sucks :( but a few tips would be to find a neopets item database (don't know whether im allowed to link to one on here) then restrict the search through what rarity and shop your using (some databases allow you to do profit aswell) make a list of all the item names and have the list next to your computer thengo to which ever shop you want to rs in apparently chocolate is a good one for beginners (don't go in magic TNT like to ban people for no reason when they restock there, lost two accounts through it :( ) and just refresh every couple of minutes. eventually you'll learn the items for that shop but at 1 month you'll only earn around 1-3k profit on most items also make sure you have a decent amount of cash on you, best to check the average price of the items on the database and carry about 4 times that incase you see alot of valuable restocks. youngrace
^ thank you! that was really helpful. only refresh once every few minutes though? i remember being told i was supposed to refresh twice per minute, although that sounds a bit too frequent imo. *cracks knuckles* alrighty, i'll give RSing another try this week. ty again! ^_^
Rae
I am so terrible at RSing that I stopped trying completely, but I've been told by people who are RS geniuses that the best place to rs is in the auctions. And then once your account is old enough, Almost Abandoned Attic. Always.
Fever
Here's a REALLY handy guide that I found: www.neopets.com/~bugsy_lenny It's very detailed and gives really helpful tips for RSing, Shopkeeping/Malling, and so on. Also, as Aalnius said, item databases are extremely helpful. If I may say, JellyNeo has a large item database (not sure if TDN has one, haven't been on the main site too much yet for a while!). HERE is a handy link to a page of Gourmet foods that are stocked, sorted by which store they are available in. I'm not sure about the value of each of the foods, so you'd have to check that out. As for my own tips, I start off with about 50k NP on hand at the maximum although I'm a laid back RSer. If I do a good job, I can turn that 50k investment into a total of 75k NP once everything sells. I'm not the best RSer. What I do is I have a Shop Wizard open in one or two tabs, and I do a Super fast search and refresh once or twice. If I can get at least a slight profit from the item I bid it down as fast as I can. While most guides will suggest you type something in like "1111" or "777," I actually just haggle it down with an outrageously low price then up in increments of about 100-200 NP. While I'm not necessarily making the Greatest profits, I'm getting a lot of smaller profits. Today I didnt' do too much RSing, and I bought something for ~700 NP and the Shop Wizard price averaged at 1700 NP. 1k NP profit right there and I bought two. I just found the uber informational first link I sent today, so I am hoping to work on some of those skills!
Alice ☮
Those are really good tips. I'm terrible at RSing. Maybe I'll try it again at some point since I now have a super fast computer and a good connection :).

Maybe I'll try it again at some point since I now have a super fast computer and a good connection :). Hehe :D Why thank you. Hey, I'm fairly bad at it myself but it definitely takes practice. And super fast computer/connection is definitely a good thing to have. Some shops' items sell out in half a millisecond. So if you're spending 5 minutes reloading... Thanks again everyone :) Stamps are okay, Silver/Gray/Gold cards are the best followed by Blues and something. Greens and Pinks are no-no's according to the link I posted. But they're one of the shops that I'd suggest really just observing for a few days, researching what cards sell the best and memorizing those lists, then going in, reload button well-rested, probably some chocolate nearby. :D
